If you buy skin on chicken, you can use the skin to make the most addicting snack! Kind of like pork rinds, but with chicken. Just cut up the skin into small pieces and render out the fat on medium heat, until they get golden and crispy. Add some salt and spices to taste and enjoy, especially when they are hot!

I saw a video (I will have to look for it) where this gentleman made bone broth with his bone in skin on chicken & then after he was done with that he took the bones & boiled them for many hours until there was nothing left on them. Then he ground the bones up & sprinkled it in his garden (bone meal) I guess its good for the soil.

Cook the chicken in your instant pot with the skin and bones and it will fall off the bones, then you just simply gently separate bones-trash, skin/fat/gristle-dogs, and cooked meat to use! easy peasy!!!! The tast is far superior to boneless, bonus broth to use as needed and tasty scraps for the dogs to add bits to their dry food.

Hi Sara, great video as usual. Love seeing all the food prep and canning. I was just wondering, is not more expensive to can and make bread etc at home? I don't know about the US but here in the UK gas and electricity prices have sky rocketed along with food and everything else.

Hello Solo! 😂 love your all’s family! I grow up in a family of just 4 (mom, dad, sister, and me) I’m the oldest by 5 years! My dad passed away this January! My mom is 68 years old! My sister had 1 child a soon to be 15 year old in just 14 days! My husband and I have 4 babies in Heaven waiting with my dad for us (some day)! So on my moms side she had 2 older siblings a brother who has passed and a sister (she lives next door) she turned 80 this March! My dad’s side he had 3 sisters and 2 brothers all have passed but the youngest brother! We live in a town of around 5000 people! I wished my sister and I was close like your children but things happen and words are said and prayers goes up but honestly we have never been close! The only time in 39 years I can say we was close was when she was pregnant with her kid! I was at every doctors appointment, ultrasound, and when we went in for my sister to be induced she wanted me there so I stayed until she and Madison(my niece’s name) came home! Then she went through a very bad postpartum! My mom and dad and my husband and I took turns to keep and help with Maddy(nickname) I also call her Monkey lol! During my sister’s pregnancy I was working for an ambulance service and Maddy won’t move around a whole lot so when I would get back and she would hear my voice she would beat my sister up (her words not mine) but from day one finding out that she was pregnant I called her Monkey and still do today! She is in the 9th grade straight A student plays Softball for Varsity and JV! It’s crazy how good she is that both teams wants her to play on both! She is also in gymnastics and has been since she was 3! She is very good at it and has won quite a few metals for that! My husband and I also have 3 nieces on his brothers side oldest is 22 and has a 1 year old boy first boy on my husband’s side of the family since his brother! Then we also have a sat of twins both girls just about to turn 17 in November! Anyway I thought you all always share with us your family just thought I would share a little into mine! ❤ and hugs from Southwest Virginia!

You got more meat with skin on too…
The meat comes off the thighs easy if you cook them until their tender…
If they feel tough to cut off the bone,
They'll probably not cooked down enough….tender is best
    Hope this helps

For the future. Add beef broth instead of water. It will help with the flavor. Also, when canning you have to use canning salt. Not sure if that’s what you used. 😍😍

I canned Italian meatball soup last year and it came out great. Tastes like I just made it. This year I have done ground beef, peach jelly and triple berry jelly. I still want to do some spaghetti sauce, but my garden is done. Everything died, so I am hoping I can get a good deal at the farmers market. If not I guess I will be done for this year.

Desi reminds me how of one of my granddaughters. I call her Mads(Madelynn) for short. She would have been out after the Costco haul. She tells everyone I'm her " bestest "friend. She's four and she's mine also.😍
