Brilliant as always Claire, so nice to catch up with you, and as always, you make me feel better for not being perfect with my own meal plan and my life in general when life gets in the way of a good plan, we all have weeks were it goes out the window. I hope you are having a lovely week!

I've noticed the price increases but doesn't feel too drastic. That could be bc of all the talk about it, you expect it to be the trolley of doom and its not that bad in reality. Noticed that most items have gone up by 10p (or seems to be) and when I shop about 40 or so items it's only an increase of £4 or so which I compensate with training myself to enjoy cheap pepsi max 😝 its taken some doing! I haven't had to up our food budget yet but can see that there may be a need for that later down the line. I've been getting all of our meat from a local butcher who is doing incredible deals at the moment and beating the supermarkets on quality and now on price. Meal plans and shopping to a list are things I've always done bc I know just what happens when left to my own devices in a shop full of yummy looking food 😉 thanks for sharing, always enjoy x

Oh yes, prices have risen in the US ! Even with being super careful what I buy, I’ve had to raise the food budget a bit. I love your channel, Claire, so REAL! Thanks! 😘

Ohh I love that someone else HAS to have a clean uncluttered workspace! I am in Canada and yes the prices are going up and up, especially on the "good' food like veg and meat. We were already pricey for those. Im buying much more frozen veg, consistently looking for reduced(its hard to get to because everyone is looking). Chicken breast here historically has been high, but at the moment a package of 5 medium breasts is around $23.About $11/lb (454 g). I rend to get the chicken quarters which have also gone up, but $2.99 is still cheap. I boil a bunch, take off the skin, pull the meat, then return the bones to the pot to finish off the broth. I usually put the stock veg in while Im boiling the whole quarters, it makes the meat very flavourful. It falls of the bones easily. 8 quarters for about $8 makes a decent container of meat, and then..soup!

I really enjoyed this video ( I enjoy them all) the timing was so apt as I too I had just done the food shop and had wasted 30 mins of my life trying to work out how I had over spent ! So you made me feel less paranoid that I was going mad !🤣🤣

Prices are going up but still managed to come in nearly £100 under budget for april, So really pleased. Not buying big brands helps, as well as price checking and buying discounted items

I switched to eating seasonal fruit and veg in January and moved to mostly shopping at Tesco’s as their club card prices are the best quality/price in my area. Aldi and Lidl might be better quality and price but they don’t offer delivery, which is my preference.

For anyone who needs higher protein but cannot cope with the increasing prices try greens, beans, pulses, pasta etc..most.of those are still cheaper than meat or fish. It's very tough for people to make ends meet at the moment.

Yes prices are definitely going up! Also item sizes of products are going down, yet the prices are stayed the same. They think we won't notice the "shrinkflation"!!

Hi Claire, enjoyed this. Appreciate authenticity and reality, far more relatable!
Think I saw a cucumber in your fridge drawer. Just wanted to let you know I learnt (via This Morning), they actually keep much longer stored in the cupboard. I’ve tried it and it definitely works. Once I cut it, I just pop a little bit of foil over the cut end.

Yes prices have gone up. !!!!. Pity our wages don't match the increase. It really pays to shop around . Like you I haven't been using my meal plan, but Friday went back on track. Have you found certain items in short supply?. Can't get sunflower oil anywhere. Even the bread counters aren't so full . Never mind I have to put it all in perspective it could be worse. Take care 💗.

We're lucky that we can find everything we want by alternating our shopping between Aldi and Lidl. Even so, prices have risen a fair amount and as we've cut out some of the cheaper basics (white rice for instance) it is getting harder to stick to our budget… those pasta bowls were so pretty!
