Also Plainville Farms Organic Oven Roasted Turkey Breast. No sugar, nitrates or nitrites. I’m not a fan of Applegate Farms (just a preference) and the only other one I can get that’s organic and free of these things is Plainville Farms. It’s delicious, but a bit pricey since it’s literally the only game in town.

Boars Head is lovely. I don’t make a habit of buying deli meat, BUT when I am out grocery shopping (which usually involves multiple stores and a pop into the Goodwill, I go to the deli at my grocery store and get a mini charcuterie lunch of sandwich size pepperoni and some sliced cheese – along with some blackberries. I sit in my car and enjoy it 😉

Dextrose, and Honey are safe for consumption even when you are wanting to lose weight because they do not spike the GI, honey also has anti-bacterial properties that help diabetics, and because these sugars are in meats, the proteins from the meat will actually cause the body to be less likely to absorb all of the sugars in the meat. It's a trick my diabetic nutritionist taught me about proteins. Anything you eat with carbs or sugars will likely not be completely absorbed by the body because the body's digestive system is hard wired to breakdown and absorb proteins faster than we do sugars. It's a well known fact.
