That looks awesome! Very tender. What kind and size instant pot is that if you would? Do you still use the crock pot at all? I have limited space and would have to get rid of my crock pot if I get the instant pot. I still haven't got one but the more Jess uses it the more comfortable I feel about it.

Your way of cooking pot roast dinner is very tame. It's interesting to see how you seeled the juices when you browned the meat.

My way of seeling the juices in the meat is not for the faint of heart. I start by opening the kitchen window and the back door. Then I turn on the ceiling fan in the kitchen and point the hall fan on high towards the kitchen. It blows through the kitchen and out the door. I get the heaviest duty pan I have and place it on the stove on highest heat with no oil. I turn the vent on high. I wash the meat in the sink, pat it a little, and place it in the pan.

Then it splatters, the alarm goes on and off the whole time. And fire blazes on the stove up past the vent. Smoke billows, and I turn the meat on each side till it's black on all sides. The whole time flames are reaching up and smoke is blowing out the door.

Only the sturdiest pan will hold up under these conditions. Most of them warp. Then the meat and vegetables are put in the oven to cook. All the black is gone when the dinner comes out of the oven.

Your way with the Instapot is very good.

Looks really delicious. Great job Jess! That price for the roast was crazy, but hey, the final product looks well worth it! Thanks for the shopping/cooking combo video. Hope you are both having a great week.

We really enjoyed your cooking video today. I will definitely will make Jessica’s pot roast recipe. I liked the idea of spices rubbed in roast and browning it, I didn’t know you could do that in a instant pot. We enjoy all of your videos have learned a lot on how to save money, thank you!

Hey y'all, go get your meat at Aldi next time. I always use their chuck roast and it's around $5ish a pound. And buy a pot. of McCormick Bag n season. You can just sprinkle it on the meat with a box of beef broth. Don't have to use the bag. It's the best flavor. And then just thicken for gravy. Yum 😋

Thanks to you both for the cooking demonstration and for opening your home for us all to watch. Reminds me of the wonderful pot roasts my Mom used to make. You both are appreciated!

I think people are a lot more careful with their cooking these days because if you screw it up, you wasted a lot of money. I liked this video because I don't have an instapot and I've never seen one being used before. I have 3 crockpots. I have always done pot roast in a crockpot. This was different than your normal videos, but who doesn't love a cooking video? I enjoyed this. Maybe your wife might do another one in the future? 🙂 [I don't know anyone who shops for the ingredients & talks about the prices, then brings those ingredients home & cooks up a meal using those ingredients. I think it makes for a good, interesting and engaging video]
