In KY our schools and daycares are closed until April 5th. In addition the KY Derby has been postponed from the 1st Sat in May until Labor Day Weekend. We have 21 known cases with 1 death so far of a 66 year old man who had lots of previous medical issues prior to him getting sick. Our 1st case was a 27 year old Walmart employee who had travelled to China. The 2nd and 3rd case were 2 elderly people who went to her church. One of our latest who has gotten sick is a school bus driver. We know it is just a matter of time until my husband is exposed. He delivers clean linens and picks up dirty ones to hospitals and nursing homes in KY and IN. The man who died was in a hospital that he picked linens up from on Sunday. I am on disability due to back surgery that went bad in 2010 but was a nurse for many years. We have implemented some precautions. He cut off his beard so he would not transmit germs from his hands to his beard. When coming home he strips at the back door, goes immediately into the utility room and washes his works clothes by themselves in hot water. We then run an empty cycle with bleach in the water to kill any possible lingering germs. From there he gets straight into the shower. I am 60 but have a compromised immune system. I was sick all of 2018 with an infection in my pain pump. I had 3 surgeries, was on antibiotics for 2 full years and had 2 open wounds on my back that had to heal from the inside out. My husband is a big guy. 6ft3in and about 300 lbs. I had one hole on my left hip where they removed the pump that was large enough to put his entire fist into the hole. That wound took 11 months to close. The 2nd wound was where the catheter was that went into my spine to allow the medication to be administered from the pump. That wound was 6 inches long and he could stick his fingers into that one and it was as deep as the middle of his palm. That one took 8 months to close. My husband cleaned and packed the wounds twice daily for the whole 11 months. The 1st time he did it when the nurse practitioner taught him how to do the treatments when he saw the wounds I heard him gasping. He was a trooper and never once complained. He took me to every doctor appointment for an entire year and I went to 3 doctors twice a month. I remained on the antibiotics for 1 year after fully healing to make sure I had no lingering infections. I feel great now but it was a really rough year. We are trying everything possible to keep me from getting the virus that we can. Things are getting scary. We live in a town of 50,000 and have Walmart, Kroger, SaveALot, 3 home town drug stores, 4 dollar stores, Rural King, Tractor Supply and a Walgreens and CVS. Our county has been out of toilet paper for 11 days. No bottled water, cleaning supplies, paper towels, gloves, alcohol or hand sanitizer are in the entire county. At 8:30 am on Saturday our Walmart also had no eggs, there were 4 small jars of peanut butter and we bought 2 of them, they were down to less than 25 gallons of milk, no butter, many of the canned goods were gone and most of the frozen foods were wiped out. I sent him with a list of 35 things we needed to hold us over with what we had in our pantry. He was unable to get 11 items on the list. Our daughter and her fiance went to Kroger on Sunday and it was the same there. You can no longer do a grocery pick up order because both places cannot fill them. We have a stocked pantry so we have food to last probably at least 6 to 8 weeks. We might have to get creative but we will not starve. Stay as safe as you can. Keep the kids isolated and home so that they are not exposed someplace else. Take care.

When I was a kid, I always read Where the Sidewalk Ends and Light in the Attic. I didn't know about Falling Up until I was an adult 😕

Trying to help my adult kids. We have 1 granddaughter(5) that lives 5 hours away. I said she’s out of school for the next few weeks let her come stay here with us. I can help her with school. Online school is hard when there isn’t much guidance from teacher or school system. Doing the best I can.
Just received text from adult child number 4 they are headed to hospital to maybe have our 2nd grandchild. Live local, but we can’t go because hospital won’t let anyone into L&D that isn’t delivering or spouse/partner with what’s going on in the world. Anxiety is at extreme high for me lately. Helps to chill in evenings and watch YouTube videos and get away for a few minutes. Thanks for keeping it up. It does matter.

Our schools are closed for three weeks. Restaurants are closed for inside dining you can do drive thru or delivery f you do a pick up order then you must stand back 6 feet from the person in front of you. Bars, clubs, casinos, workout places and so many more are closed here too. Grocery stores, gas stations and stores are still open but most are closing early.

Love how happy you all are! I had wondered why your oldest weren’t homeschooled- thank you for explaining that. Just out of curiosity, do you intend to homeschool the littles through 12th grade, or would you want them to attend high school?

The view from your home is amazing! Hope Wilder is better! My favorite poem from those books is There's Too Many Kids in this Tub. It's so silly but I'm almost 50 and I can still quote it word for word.

Do you remember a while back when you had a feeling that you needed to stock up? I did too and until that point I wasn't doing once a month shopping. I'm so very glad that I do now because we're good on food and supplies for over a month.

Alright Tiffany, I guess I'll be adding patty melts with grilled onions to our menu plan. Let's hope I can find some meat, bread, onions and cheese. We love pepperjack too.
