As soon as you set the grapes on to boil, my mouth started watering, lol! Our family had concord grapes and we made jelly every year. My mom would freeze the juice in empty ice cream buckets and add to it as more grapes ripened and were processed. My favorite part was getting into the frozen juice when no one was looking and scraping a bunch out with a spoon to eat as a treat. (Then my mom would gripe at me for getting into it). πŸ™‚

I was watching another homestead youtube video and they use compost toilet with sawdust in layers like you. The difference is they put the waste on a compost pile and let it sit for two years then they use it in there garden. Is that safe to use. I thought you weren't suppose to use human waste on your garden. Can you let me know, thank you

Thanks Brooke ……very informative video! I tried this once with some grapes in my field but the end product didn’t seem right. I had another failed attempt at making wine with Concord grapes. I did do very good at canning extra spicy dill pickles. Wisdom from experts like yourself is greatly appreciated – this is a lost art that’s really fun to do!

Lovely, and I think you're right that there was more natural pectin as the grapes got older…. β˜ΊπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸŒžπŸŒ³πŸ“πŸŒ°πŸžπŸπŸŽˆ
