    I’m getting Swiss chard and smoked pork hocks this week. My husband looked at 16 bean soup with hocks and greens and asked when we moved south of the mason-Dixon lol. I told him my girl Kim was inspiring me to try out some dishes, but I grew up in Buffalo and we ate hocks and beans. My dad loved navy beans snd mom loved Lima beans so I am definitely a bean girl, will just eat less carbs the rest of the day.

    My dad loved mustard greens. He was the only one in our family that would eat them and mom would buy the canned fro him. She fixed him a big can for lunch one day and he ate about half of it. He told her that he would eat the rest for supper that night. She warmed them up for him and as he was eating them…he noticed something in it that didn’t look right. It was half of a grasshopper!! Us kids teased him forever over that…we told him he had eaten the other half at lunch. But you know…it never stopped him for eating canned greens.
