i literally just had the tofu shirataki version today. I only rinsed it and did not dry fry it. Rather i add it to my stir fry of marinated skirt steak (oyster sauce, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, ginger, onion, minced garlic) and portobello mushrooms. stiry fried it for about 3 min. It did not taste or smell fishy at all to me. I acutally liked it a lot.

I eat low Carb Organic Edamame pasta occasionally. But I recently found shirataki noodles here locally at an Asian market. No fish smell at all and made a great stir fry. I think once you find the ones you like, you will enjoy them. Awesome video man, new SUB from me. Cheers!

In Ontario we have nuPasta. Going to give them a try with my traditional red meat sauce. I did read recently about the white vinegar soak as well. Thanks for this Wes, you really took one for the team here.

I actually buy pure shiitake noodles from our local asian market and get WAY more bang for my buck! I found them when looking for some ingredients to make this FABULOUS traditional homemade Japanese ramen recipe I found on YouTube. It has turned out to be one of my favorite things to eat on Keto when I need that warm my soul kind of food!!

Weight watchers brand makes these too. These are great for making a healthier Romine noodles substitution using better then bullion. Also spaghetti sauce is low in calories and is best for these as far as weight loss. If your going to use an alfredo sauce you mightiest well just use regular pasta your not gaining any real benefit.lol

Just make a clear dip w lemon juice and dashi and dip slices or noodles in it. Eat. Yum. Or can use in Japanese ramen soup broths in place of ramen noodles. Or use as an ingredient in sukiyaki or other Japanese dishes like oyaku donburi, chicken tofu, pork tofu, beef tofu. My favorite ingredient in sukiyaki.

For those living in Europe I found shiritake with oat fiber spaghetti called โ€œSlim Pasta Spaghettiโ€ . It is available from this website in the Netherlands

    https://www.dieetwebshop.nl/search.php?mode=search&q=Slim%20pasta&page=1&keep_https=yes

The package contains 270g of pasta which I consider 1 serving.

Instructions call for rinsing well and then add to the sauce and heat up for. Few minutes.

When opening the package it had a slight fishy smell. In addition to rinsing it, I then soaked the spaghetti in a bowl of water with 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar while I was cooking the other ingredients. That took away any fishy smell.

Texture was so much better than plain conjac flour and an acceptable substitution for regular pasta. This is the brand I will continue to order.

    Hope this is helpful.

I'm one of the people who doesn't like them. What I use instead for low carb pasta alternatives are eggplant, mushrooms, and zucchini. Cook them (microwave them or fry them) and then add pasta sauce and some cheese and it is still tasty. Sometimes I add a very small amount (a handful) of real pasta just to get the texture, taste and mouth feel of pasta for a satisfying meal with still very few carbs.

If you quit sticking your nose in the bag, you won't notice the odor. Also, you don't eat these plain, they have no real flavor. They are a vehicle for a good flavorful sauce. They are even a good ramen substitute if you make proper ramen.

I had some the other night. I cooked them and tried to eat them. I managed to eat about 1/2 of them & I gagged the whole time. I wish I had not paid so much for them. I will eat the rest of them at some point but they were disgusting to my taste buds. I had the Pasta Zero brand.

This should have honestly been done in two separate videos, I get your trying to entertain give knowledge to the viewers but for those who just want the recipe and cook from start to finish you make that education video then you could have said in the beginning if you want to know the main reason why your doing that dish, out that to another video. Not even I was this irritated when my sous chef or executive chef would talk this much ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ either you are the chef who love to chatter and be vocal down the line or you are still nervous on the camera.
