Thank you so much for this review Steve. I have only tried the La Banderita Carb Counter brand, which we really like for tacos and burritos! So far, I usually agree with your assessment of the taste and textures of the foods that you review, given that, I really do trust your judgment on these products. I will be trying a couple of the other brands now! We appreciate it very much. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Š

Steve I know you tried the LaBanderita Carb Counter, but there is the "Street Taco" size in that same brand, that says its ZERO carbs. Maybe you will try it next week for us… Besides you must remember most people will not be eating a plain tortilla without filling ingredients so the 1st one that tasted not so-so, but had the Best ingredients, would be my choice so far for tacos etc. Thank you for all the examples etc. at your expense. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

Agree on the Nutri-Ricas, they are my go-to, very tasty and great texture, but I limit them because of the not-wholesome ingredient list, but very worthwhile as a treat. I imagine with a fat-blunted carb response these will be even lower impact, since I'm loading them with fajita meat, guac and sour cream. Also they make great mini-thin pizza crusts. Thanks so much for your sacrifice on this – a ton of work and had to eat all the nasty ones!

    Dude,
If you don't mind me calling you dude.
    I believe as a 60 year + tortilla eater,
You gotta finish them over an open flame before tasting.
    Not microwave or raw.
My biggest Keto sacrifice was tortillas.
I am currently eating the nutri ricas.
They don't fry well so nogo for fried quesadillas but tasty once you heat them up over an open flame.
    Great for fondue.
Cookup some chorizo melt some Monterey jack cheese into the chorizo and pinch it out into your warm keto friendly tortilla.
    Cheers

Well I sampled the la tortilla factory at Costco yesterday with the 505 green chile and cheese, and I went back for 2nds and then I bought some. The sample product was actually meant to be the green chile. They are really meant to be heated up a. Frying pan because they arenโ€™t really cooked. What I had was delish!

La Banderita, I love these. They come in all sizes, the regular, small and street taco. Glad they did well. I am not going to stop eating these. Ditto Ole.

I'm loving your tortilla reviews. I do not really like Mexican food so I don't use them for that. I have been using the La Bandarita tortillas for sandwich wraps. I roll them up and cut in half and put in my Dash grill. I really like them. I have found though they can dry out a little too much and they become almost brittle. I found the smaller tortillas in my grocery store and found the larger ones at Walmart.

This is awesome, Steve. Interestingly, the nutrition label that I've seen on the Walmart website shows only 4g net carbs/serving for the Joseph's Lavash bread. I'm going to run up there and try to buy some because I did the curbside pickup shopping thing and got shut out on it. (Happens a lot.) I want to make those crackers. It's hard to get psyched up to test myself, but I recently did with Franz Keto bread, Carbmaster bread (available in the PNW), and compared with my homemade egg white breads (2 kinds) and a regular carby hot dog bun. Long story why, but I did it, with a keto mojo. Ouch x20 or so times. Shocking results. Franz was a disaster, despite only 1 net carb/serving–46 point spike. Worst of the low carb breads by far, for me. With the egg white breads my BG initially FELL, and never ever rose above the starting level. I was so shocked, but validated for all my baking efforts. I'm going to try the A La Madre corn tortillas next. The BEST for chips.

I'm new here Mr. Steve, I'm curious if you've ever done a study on yogurt. I need full fat, low sugar, sweetened with the right kind of keto sweeteners, having trouble finding these that are full fat that have taste to them, that don't taste like chalk. Most of them taste awful, especially Greek – but they say it's better. Any help or advice? …….. Anybody?

I like the LaBandarita also, they're good! ๐Ÿ˜‹ Waiting anxiously for for part II. (P.S. love these most with scrambled eggs, ham slices and lots of cheese – yummmmm)

the Lavash gave me digestive issues, I think they may use quite a bit of flax seed that my body's not used to. But, if you brush it with ghee and sprinkle garlic salt on it, and slice it cracker size with your pizza cutter and then bake it til crispy, it makes excellent snacking crackers!!!

When I saw you eating La Tortilla Factory I thought โ€œNo way he is going to eat that uncookedโ€ ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿซฃ but, you did and I was like thatโ€™s why it was horrible, if I eat a home made uncooked flour tortilla I would say the same ๐Ÿ˜› Just saying ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ and donโ€™t get me wrong I totally appreciate your work ๐Ÿ˜Š
I cook mine on a pan with butter ๐Ÿ˜‹

I know you said that you aren't doing any brands you have to buy online, but I have been scarfing down A La Madre brand CORN Tortillas and they taste so GOOD and so "Authentico" that it's really hard for me to believe they are good for Keto. I also bring it up because SO MANY Keto cooking channels on Youtube are using them in recipes.

I have Persian friends for whom lavash bread is a part of their daily diet. It is a vehicle/mechanism to scoop food and get it into their mouths. The nutritional info is better than that of rice ( the other common vehicle to get food into their mouth) so I appreciate you including it in your testing! Not "Keto", per se, but not a totally bad way to scoop or wrap foods on your plate.

WooHoo~ more Steve-views! Appreciate you so much for these, as they sure save me a lot of initial finger pricks w/the Mojo. At least I can narrow it down by taste & then do the personal glucose testing, since we're not all going to respond the same. It's also super helpful to read through the comments for other folks' responses & input on what they've tried. Looking forward to "Part II"~ now I'm off to go watch your "Grilled Shrimp w/Coconut Sauce" post I see over on the sidebar. I only buy shrimp a couple times a year, & I'm rather picky about where it comes from, & how I cook it =) Thanks again Steve~ Sam in AZ
