Lulu: Thanks for this discussion. it is relevant and timely for many of us. I must however take issue raised by your guest Barb? and need to put out in the ether that certain medical conditions and the drugs that treat them can be overcome with "not putting things in your piehole". Wow. Really? That shows a complete lack of understanding of the chemical mechanisms of many drugs that have weight gain as absolute side effect. No one dealing with that needs to be shamed by a plant based virtue signaler saying this comes down to willpower and discipline. I have always found you, Lulu, to be compassionate, understanding, pragmatic, hilarious, honest and helpful. I hope you can rub off a bit on your co hort and perhaps can help your many loyal fans work around the issues of chemotherapy, beta blockers, thyroid medications to achieve better health and body image. Chronic illness is no joke and frankly not always brought on by unhealthy lifestyle choices but by DNA mutations far beyond anyones control.

Hi ladies, Sue here from UK. I don’t have a van, don’t have a weight problem but you ladies are so fabulous. Have been watching Lulu for a few weeks, filling my days after losing my husband of nearly 50 years. My food choices, even though I am underweight (for now) are not good but my goodness this looks so good. I want to get on a plane and come over and hug you all. Love you Lulu xx

So much truth. My kid also, thin. Totally different from me. I don’t know what it is, I just had an unhealthy relationship with food. Apparent the only way I can conquer it is to deal with it as little as possible. Health is my why, multiple chronic conditions to deal with and the weight putting me over the edge. Honestly I wish I’d feel better, although doing this for 3 months I guess I just need more time. Wonderful Barb, you’ve had great success in just a year!! I don’t buy any bad foods, but I do hate cooking. I appreciate Carol’s honestly, yes it’s hard!! It helps that I just order the food to cook and don’t go to supermarkets. Congratulations to Shelia, amazing in this short time she feels that much better. Congratulations to Chris on achieving such amazing health goals. Congratulations to Bonnie on her realizations. Congratulations to sweet Nicole, I’m similar height and get the steady climb of weight, her commitment is admirable. Congratulations to Angie for making the greatest decision to hold the line! Congratulations to Sherrie, yes it’s hard to organize all the food, watch Lulu’s video where she makes the veg stew, that’s a good dish. Congratulations to Adriana, I relate to skepticism, lol! Her weight loss is phenomenal. Although I have not experienced these great results with significant weight loss or energy gain or noticeable improvement in health I’m hanging on. Congratulations to Liz, for being able to pivot in her diet and make important changes. Thank you to Lulu and Barb for recording and replaying this, zoom is presently not for me but this works. The attitude is gratitude!

I have been listening to your discussion at a time when I am having a terrible time with food will power.
Before I got pregnant, 55 years ago, I was never hungry and never worried about what I ate or if I ate.
The weight gain began after the first trimester and by my ninth month, I got to 160 lbs!
Then, I was at weight watchers and that never worked because of deprivation and their mentality…all or nothing!
    I am 77.
I am house-bound, caring for my totally disabled husband.
    I eat like hell.
I just eat what is available, fast.
He went from 210 to 136lbs so, he can eat anything and not gain a pound.
    I think, I don't love myself.
    I am depressed.
I feel lonely because my husband cannot talk.
    He has Parkinson's.
Our lives came to a screeching halt.
I feel like I just don't give a shit anymore.
Noone knows how nervous and scared I am about losing him, after a marriage of 56 years.
I found out I am pre diabetic so my doctor wants to let me try Saxenda injections for 3 months to get me started.
I'm scared because this is something very new for me and what about the side effects!
I think, truly, if I lived alone, Food would not be an issue.
I don't want to be alone.
I have MS & Crohn's and I hate Crohn's because I cannot eat all the good stuff.
Anyway, I hope the Saxenda will give me a jump start to get motivated.
    Thank you for this discussion.
I am going to try and pray God will give me motivation.

My "why" became apparent from listening to one of these fantastic videos. Someone talked about her pain subsiding (maybe Barb?), and that hit me right between the eyes. I work 12 hr shifts as a corrections officer and I experienced foot and leg pain like no other. I was afraid that I would not be able to comfortably go camping with my grandkids. I went to my computer and typed out the "recipe" from Lulu's zoom meeting video and began the very next day. I was at first appalled at the amount of food and struggled to prepare the two meals that I needed to take to work. But within a week I told my coworkers that I was cautiously optimistic that I felt better and by 10 days' time, the pain in my legs was gone. I feel energy and know that after after one month I have lost weight. (I think I threw out my scale..😅). I consider the weight loss as a side benefit to the pain relief I feel. I feel strength and motivation to continue as I do not want that pain back. Thank you, Lulu, Barb and all the participants for your thoughts and encouragement!

Lulu, we haven’t met, but I want to thank you for sharing you story. Last August i got home from a trip with joint pain all over my body and pushing probably 200 pounds. I decided i would not opt for a wheelchair and instead change my diet. That is when i found you. I replayed your protein shake ingredients video over and over so i could buy the powders that had worked for you. Once my order arrived within a matter of days my joints no longer hurt and now some 8 months into this change in eating mainly vegan no carbs and sugars, the happy side effect is i have lost nearly 60 pounds and have only had one flare up months ago. Thank you.

Hope to watch soon. For now… CUTE hair and glasses ❤

I heard a cool quote about food: If it grows on a plant – eat it. If it’s made in a plant – don’t eat it. 👍🏻
