If you want to watch a movie right next to each other on the couch afterward or something, then no beans, if you'll be enjoying your evening separately on your own hobbies, then all the beans. 😂

its not just “Tex-Mex” culinary debate . It’s in the culinary definition of what is chili and a bean Chili is made of vegetables that include beans. The varying opinions began with the definitional on what is a bean (The difference between legumes and beans is that the seeds are collected from different plants are called beans, A legume is any plant that produce beans where its fruit originated inside a pod. (To add to the confusion; all beans are legumes but not all legumes are beans) Before refrigerate, beans were added as an excellent source of protein. ‘Con carne' translates directly from the Spanish language to 'with meat Chili con carne is made with meat { and can include beans but not exclude a meat source.). To compound the debate Chili is technically a stew and not a soup because it contains more solid than liquid. It was popularized as a soup on American restaurant menus under the category ‘Soups and Sandwiches.’ Cathy but nor accurate by definition. ‘Chili’ is defined in its own culinary category as a ‘spicy stew.’ Nor is it limited to beef. Add mushrooms and lose the beans and you have crossed a different border and migrated from Spain to Italy. Chicken cacciatore any one? Loose the beans only if you are Keeping Keto!

I live in Texas and most people where I live believe chili with beans is a casserole and not a chili. with or without beans, Chili is such a satisfying meal.

I've made chili probably 500 times in my life. Some batches are very Texas style, some are most definitely not. For me, it's all about what you are in the mood for. I'm a big fan of using whole dried chilies like pasilla, guadillo, ancho, etc. Wash, remove the seeds, briefly roast them on a hot skillet until fragrant, and then soak in hot water until soft, then drain most water and blend until smooth with garlic and optionally canned or roasted tomatoes. This becomes your base for great chili. Also ground venison is some of the best chili meat you can use.

I'm from texas. I've had chili both ways. In my opinion there are really 3 options, chili without beans, chili with beans, and chili beans (beans with minimal meat and seasoned with chili seasoning). I'm not the biggest fan of pinto beans used most of the time in any of those options aside from the no beans chili.I do not like beans much in general, but the ones I tend to like are lentils, black beans, kidney beans, lima beans, and navy beans. Honestly I tend to do mixes of those if I want beans or chili with beans. And while my ex who was a major country boy was a no bran chili purist, I sometimes like a little beans with my chili or some chili beans. Not often, but sometimes.
