Just a tip, for the meatballs, when we use venison, we add a Italian sausage to it because of how dry venison is and it’s delicious. 😃

Go to krogers branded stores chains they have several under the kroger group. Buy sliced beef they have it already sliced thin for that. If you can't find it they will cut your find to the specs it's a newer item in the butcher section most shoppers are starting to notice it. And it's featured on sale every 5-7 weeks as a digital deal, manager special, or coupon perk.

I suggest you look at Azure Standard for your olive oil. Most olive oil sold at Costco, Walmart and Sam’s is actually canola oil with flavoring. If you stick that jug of oil in the fridge for 24 hours, olive oil will go solid, a blend will be liquid with some solid bits, and canola oil will stay a liquid. It’s definitely more expensive to buy real olive oil, but it’s worth it.

Fortunately, just 3 of us here now. While I’ve never had a budget, I’ve always been conscience with saving money on groceries. We raise our beef and buy other animal proteins, including eggs, from our local farmer friends. I still buy fish/seafood from store. A negative, or possibly a positive with these times, is I grew up with very little food so when I got married, I learned how to preserve food. I easily have a year’s supply, at least, stockpiled and always rotating for freshness. Will I ever voluntarily tell those that know me? Nope! Mums the word! Most still don’t understand the need to. Also, thank you for suggesting, awhile back, southernprepper 1’s channel. It’s nice hearing what’s not being reported by MSM.

That was a lot of for those groceries. Prices are crazy. My budget for groceries has almost doubled. I have just raised my budget. There's just 2 of us now so I was able to do that. I just cut back in other ways. We are retired. We just don't travel now since the world is so crazy. Be blessed Audrey.

Great haul! I've always used regular lasagna noodles in my lasagnas. I never pre-boil them. I assemble my lasagna in a 9×13, add 1/4 cup of water around the edges of the pan, put foil on super tight and bake at 400 for around an hour. Never had crunchy noodles. You might want to give it a try and save yourself a headache.

Hey Audrey, it always makes my day when I see a new video posting on your channel!! Grocery shopping for a family of ten is no easy thing, but especially now. I admire how much you cook from scratch, especially knowing how busy you are with your business, family, and running a homestead, plus now Penny and Peaches and all that will add to your to-do list! You are truly amazing, and I get inspo and ideas every time I watch one of your vids, thank you!! Meatballs are a life-saver, that's for sure. We use them at least 2-3x/month. We're likely moving this summer, so my grocery game plan is 'use it up', and minimal shopping Jan-June, so my overall spending is way down, and I'm beyond thankful for the stockpile we have to work through because I just got my hours cut down a bit at work last week. One never knows, so it's always wise to be prepared on the necessities! Great job on your dedication to keeping your pantry/freezers stocked as economically as possible!

Definitely NOT raising the budget we live on social security 😬I am making everything homemade, bread, pie crust, biscuits etc I’ve canned jellies, meats and beans! Stocked up on canned vegetables, flour, sugar and bread flour, honey and maple syrup! I also am growing more in our city lot! We are buying no junk food, if we want a sweet, I home make it!

Hi Audrey! My grocery shopping strategy hasn’t really changed. I’ve always shopped loss leaders and stocked up when items are on sale. I’m trying to be very intentional about not wasting food and planning meals based on what we have available.

I, too, try to buy what is on sale. However, it doesn't always work. Regardless, I have a list, stick to it as much as possible. Plus, I always keep in mind the amount I can spend on that trip. Does fairly well but it is still painful to see some of the prices on things and the totals for that trip. Thanks for sharing.

I'd say about 80% of our groceries are bought on sale. We have a rule of not buying it unless it's on sale (this excludes perishables). Between Costco, local grocery chains' sales and Flash Food (participating grocery stores selling off food that is at or close to its BB date at half price) we're staying well in budget. We also take advantage of cultural holiday/event sales…for example, Ramadan is starting so things like lentils, chickpeas, tahini, rice, certain spices and seasoning mixes, lamb are all coming on sale and we stock up for the year.
