Love how the kitchen is turning out! As for the cabinet you wanted advice on…if it were me I would put the instant pot and the extra small appliances there so the pantry is just food. Or I would make the cabinet the baking pantry stock and any appliances I have just for baking. 😊 hope this helps

I think putting plates and bowls in there makes the most sense. Close to the dishwasher AND…its not in the way of anyone cooking on the oven. We have plates in a cabinet beside the oven and its SO annoying getting to it when someone is cooking.

It seems to me that putting your mugs in the lower cabinet did not really solve the "issue" of accessibility. It will still be much easier and quicker to simply grab the mugs that are in the front. Now if you had a cabinet with a pull out drawer, that would have been much better because then you could simply pull it out and choose a mug because you would be able to see them all. My other suggestion would be to maybe just rotate them out seasonally or monthly (i.e., use the upper cabinet for the mugs you are currently using ~ the lower cabinet for storing the rest ~ and then seasonally or monthly rotating them) so that you are using them all at various times throughout the year.

I also think that when it comes to kitchen organization, it makes more sense to have your plates, bowls, glasses, and silverware relatively close to each other and not spread out so you are not chasing from place to place. I would have considered a different option for your kitchen / baking utensils ~~ maybe a crock on the counter with the ones that you reach for regularly and then the others put into a random drawer somewhere else. This is one thing that I really dislike about our current kitchen setup. My husband and I live in a 1 bedroom + den 892 square foot apartment and whoever designed this kitchen space when they were building has seriously never had to use or organize a kitchen before. We literally have 1 drawer in our kitchen (and 0 in the bathroom) and the cabinets are not really setup in a way that we can put our daily dishes, glasses, and silverware next to each other and it is a huge nuisance ~~ the silverware are to the right of the stove and we do have one cabinet above that I used to put our dishes and bowls in, but then we were having to go to a small cabinet to the upper left of the stove to get a glass. Now the silverware is still to the right of the stove (in our 1 drawer) and I ended up moving the plates and bowls to an upper cabinet on the right side of our sink and then the glasses are in a small cabinet next to that. So at least those are somewhat close to each other. But I think it is more efficient to have the plates, bowls, and glasses all in the same cabinet and then the silverware in a drawer directly below and in close proximity to the stove.

That empty cabinet could be used for spices and baking supplies. It’s much closer to your working surfaces while you’re cooking. You could fit a very nice spice rack in there for sure! Plus some nice bins on the top shelf for all the baking things. That’s what I’d do. (Extra bulk spices can either go in a bin up top or behind the spice rack)

I'm glad you like your space. Very nice. If it was me I would move the food to the cabinet you initially put the mugs in, move the instapot and other appliance to the lower cabinet where you put the coffee/tea pots and then use that whole "pantry" for mugs and coffee tea. Just seems more functional and the food would be closer to were you cook.

Hi Jenna. I’m glad you changed your mind and put your mugs in the lower cupboard. I still think you should put all your drinking glasses in that single cupboard by the sink and maybe small serving dishes, bowls etc in the other cupboard. Just saying. Love you guys 🤗❣️

    Beautiful kitchen!
For the empty cupboard, I personally would put my cookbooks, medicine and vitamins there. I also have a huge nespresso collection so I would maybe keep my spare boxes there of the pods I haven't opened and organized. But I place huge nespresso orders so it lasts me a few months. I currently keep my spare boxes in my hallway closet because I have no room in my kitchen. We're a family of seven so kitchen space is limited. Someday that extra space will serve you well for bottles, kid cups, kid snack containers, kid plates; if you choose to have kids. If not, then maybe vases and plant food.
