If you don’t eat pork, I recommend using chicken. Sake helps tenderize the meat and take away the smell, but if you don't have sake, you can use other alcohols without strong flavors, or even water if alcohol isn't your thing!😊

If you saute it with garlic, onions then add bay leaf its already a dish name “Adobo” which very popular dish in the Philippines, braise pork and adobo is quite similar taste 😊
