That cake looks so good. I don't use cream cheese for icing because they say put in the fridg and I have no room in mine and besides I think using butter is better. That is what my mom used and they used years ago.

The cake looks delicious I am definitely going to make this I would like to add mini chocolate chips in the batter so the cake looks like a cannoli inside and also on the frosting on the outside just a thought

Oh my goodness! That cake looks absolutely delectable, Leslie!!!
My mouth is watering just watching it come together😉.
Your niece's cake table reminded me of the cookie tables all done up for our own kids' weddings💖!!
If you Google Youngstown cookie table or Pittsburgh cookie table, you'll see what I'm talking about!
Friends and family all get going on recipes to share. It's a well known custom in the Y-town area, as well as Pittsburgh (our last home was in a suburb of Y-town and only 45 minutes from Pittsburgh😊).
Interestingly, when our daughter was married in Dayton (SW Ohio), local guests did not know of the tradition. People walked along, openly staring, but many did not take a single cookie!!! Nor did they take a wedding dessert bag filled with their choices!! We were astonished, still chuckle about it!!
We were pleased to do the table because our daughter and son-in- love were thrilled with it💕
Your niece is so blessed to have you and other loved ones baking cakes to celebrate her special celebration day♥️!!!
    Sending 🤗🤗🤗 -Susan ♥️

You can always beat your egg whites first if you want to use the big mixer. Scrape them out into another bowl with a rubber spatula and then proceed with the cake mixing. That tiny bit of egg white left on the bowl shouldn't affect the batter. It is handy having more than one bowl for the KA mixer though.

Your cake looks tasty. If you really want to be able to at least put a decorative border on your cake, at Walmart you can buy tubes of icing that come with 3 basic tips. Line a cookie sheet with parchment and practice doing a shell border. It’s how i learned
