Back to year 2012, my friend and I stayed at the Excalibur for a few days, and they had a deal for both buffet hotels to eat for like $40 each within some window and we did lunch at Excalibur, then dinner at the Luxor… they were pretty much the same buffet, just different ambiance.

the one thing i did like about this…. he self serve beverage. that mmight be a turn off for some, but considering other buffets take forever to refill your drinks, this is a blessing. ps. i was at the luxor back in the 90s. never thought it was a bad buffet

The buffet is better next door at The Excalibur, in my opinion; same price too. The dessert section is far superior at Excalibur which includes a sugar-free section too. Thanks for the video; the food at Luxor didn't look "too bad." 🙂

Couple of things to add. If you use the MyVegas 2-4-1 coupon, two people can eat for $17 bucks each. This coupon is now restricted at MGM, Luxor, and Excalibur and they will not allow you to use the coupon and charge the cost of the buffet to your room. Was the omelet station not open? The made-to-order omelets are very good. When you can get a good omelet, and good coffee for $17 each that is a deal. When you throw in the rest of the unlimited food (good or "not too bad") this is a heck of a deal.

31.99 for in some cases nasty looking food. I do understand that at the in house cafe it will run nearly 30.00 for breakfast. My ratings based on 'appearance" scale 1-10 Pizza-2 Waffles-3 Blintzes-2 (that was an apple blintz on your plate), scrambled eggs 5, Bacon-5, Selections at Carving Station -4 , Seating–9 (looks kind of private compared to most buffet seating Dessert very average 4.5 Yes The lLxor is the same as it always is..Overall rating 4. What's shocking is the MGM Grand Buffet isn't much better.

Not ""too"" bad / It's not bad / surprisingly adequate!! 😂 Let's put that on their website 🤣 I don't have the appetite to eat more than one plate of anything so boofays just aren't my thing. But I like that they offer lots a variety. Like a giant weird sampler platter. Great, straightforward overview. Thanks for the video!

Lol I love the "not bad" counter. I enjoy when a creator is self aware of their quirks. It bugs me to hell when episode after episode a creator says some phrase or over unnecessarily and doesn't pick up on it. The insight shows why you guys are the best

I started going to Vegas in it's themed years, decades ago, like MGM had an amusement park out back ago, and I miss those themed resorts. So tired of Resorts World/Fontainebleau places. I bet if MGM updated Luxor and Excalibur to a mid-top tiered level hotel… it would thrive!

I think real maple syrup is actually runny and the high fructose corn syrup stuff is thicker. I doubt a buffet at this price level would have maple syrup.

Love your channel and content, thanks!

You are correct about the loss leaders being removed. They were replaced with players cards, player databases and tracking play. The real gamblers don't pay for the buffets or meals, just charge it to the room and it's all comp'd at the end of the stay. If you don't gamble, sure, be prepared to pay up for everything!

I really enjoyed your Luxor buffet video and the Atomic Golf one as well! Thank you for your honest opinion and not following the prevalent expectations of all things Luxor. After this video and the previous one about the Luxor property in general, I plan on making the Luxor my destination when I visit Las Vegas again.

I always use the My Vegas BOGO reward for the buffets at MGM properties, then they are worth it to me. I wouldn’t pay full price for any buffet in Vegas. Luxor has a nice selection and variety. Set your expectations before you go..I mean it’s a buffet, not 5 star dining. 😊

I enjoy the Luxor buffet, although I have fond nostalgia for it. Of the two, I prefer the MGM to the Luxor, but possibly because I like to go sit in the poker room for a few hours after eating at the buffet.

Huge thanks for another excellent video.
I honestly think this is very acceptable and I certainly wouldn't be disappointed eating there. It's all about the context the Luxor always seems to be compared against in YouTube land. Then again (and ignoring any myVegas vouchers!) it's all about cost and for the money paid, this honestly isn't a bad deal.
I have to admit though, they REALLY need to label those trays – they need to remember that tourists, especially those from other countries, would damn well expect this!
I'm looking forward to a 2 week holiday just North of Atlanta, this August and we'll be including a 5 day stay in Vegas at the Luxor. Coming from Scotland, my usual holiday locations include Spain, Portugal, Italy and Turkey, amongst others. Most of the 'touristy' resorts in these countries pretty much all come from the same rubber stamp (except for Italy). Buffet-wise (excluding the very top/expensive hotels), the Luxor would be well placed.
But, of course, going to Vegas isn't about the hotel you sleep in!

As long as the food is hot and there is plenty of selection, I won't complain. If I don't like something, I don't eat it. It's a better choice than a $20 breakfast bagel at Fontainbleau food court, not including drink.

With the high cost of a basic breakfast in a fast food joint or a restaurant on the strip, a buffet like this can make sense especially when it includes your beverages. For me breakfast doesn't have to be gourmet, and there you have plenty of choices. These days a breakfast sandwich and a coffee can be very pricey. If you choose wisely I think the Luxor buffet is fine.

Luxor’s buffet gets a bad rap. It’s not fancy or glamorous but it’s pretty good and $20+ per person cheaper than a lot of strip buffets. Under-appreciated for sure.

It’s funny but the coffee is quite good! I usually use the myVEGAS bogo and get omelet, bacon , make a yogurt pafait and have coffee here. Nice video….i guess i need to try the chicken legs! for me for 17ish with the bogo luxor buffet is indeed not bad lol
