I live in PA Dutch country. My mom came from a big family. My gram always made a ham & bean soup(ours is made with a tomato base) & fried dough. Fried dough is PA’s cornbread. My aunt & I are the only one’s left that still make the soup. I use a canning stock pot, it’s as big as a canning pot. Took 20lbs of northern beans last year. I always made it in early January & made up dinner boxes of soup & fried dough to give away. I can the rest. Still have 3 quarts, so I didn’t make it this year. BUT tomorrow we’re eating a jar & of course having fried dough! I salt most of it, then sugar the rest for dessert.

That soup looked so delicious. That is a great way to use up the beans and Bean and Ham soup is one of my favorites. I'm with you Sissy, Great Northern Beans is one of my favorites also. Manny was so cute when I heard him singing "Tyler is outside". He is so entertaining. I love him so much. My Father-In-Law used to always make furniture and things out of wagon wheels before he unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago and My Husband and I have a beautiful Coffee Table that he made out of a Wagon Wheel, a old Whiskey Barrel as the base and a round piece of glass on top and you put a plant in the middle for decoration. It's so beautiful. He actually lived in Snellville, GA. I don't know how far that is from you guys. We love you Moss Family and we'll see y'all next time.

What a nice day! The soup looked delicious and comforting. I would say that you may be able to salvage one of the wheels, but the rest looks too far gone. 🥰💕💞💕💞💖

🙂 ❤❤ great northern beans a favourite for us. Dried, Soak them overnight, drain, rinse cool water to cover, mustard powder, yellow onion chopped I love onion so small to med, bacon or fat back (raw bacon adds a Smokey flavour) chopped in one inch pieces. Salt, pepper, a cup of molasses stir with love cover with foil (not a glass cover, I don’t know why, just works) 250 low and and slow all day. Stir and occasionally, take foil off, repeat. Do this until the water has turned into a beautiful gravy consistency. That’s French Canadian baked beans. Love ya ❤

Oh I would save those wagon wheels! And maybe rebuild the body. I can see it filled with your garden up on a higher level, or filled with flowers to greet everyone! Or if you don’t rebuild the body, I would put the wagon wheels standing up against a tree or side or front
of house with maybe some flowers at base or half barrel planters filled with flowers: thrillers, chillers and spillers 🌺 🌸

YES!!! Try to save the wagon. I'll bet Titus and the boys could fix it up really nice again using some of the vintage parts. You can decorate it in the fall and at Christmas and during the spring and summer load it with pots of flowers. It is so precious. We are working our way through a pot of pintos this week. Tonight the hubs is making burritos and I think that should finish them off. Tomorrow night I'm making tortellini soup I saw on Mandy'a channel. Loved the tour. xoxTX PS Our 4 year old grandson is spending a couple of days with us and we are going the make the pickle thingies. He's excited, lol. Loves to help cook.

Well with all the rot in the boards, none of them looked salvageable, at first look. Maybe a wheel or two is possible. Maybe you could build a new one depending on the condition of the hardware. The metal pieces could be salvageable but it dont look promising.
The beans and cornbread looked wonderful. 😋 love these kids.
    God bless all here.
