The best Try episodes are the ones where someone gets insanely happy from something they're served. I love seeing people really, really enjoy themselves on Try.

This was definitely Jamie's episode 😀

Yeah, never seen anything like that here in America. Our corndog is real simple: Hot dog on a stick dipped in cornbread batter, then toss it in the deep fryer. NO SUGAR. Ketchup and mustard on the tray and just dip the corndog in and get what you want for each bite.

I have literally never seen corndogs that look like these. We have a great pub/bar in Seattle called the Unicorn and they serve the greatest corndogs including one with braised onions and sirachi cream cheese. It's "slap your momma good

Hopefully they specify that these are Korean corndogs. Which are good but very different from American corndogs. The sausage in Korean corndogs are usually fish sausage instead of hot dog. Also, the batter is totally different.

A corn dog is a simple thing, and a true classic one is made with a beef hot dog, coated in cornbread. And Nothing more. There is no sausage, nothing sweet, just the dog and cornbread, along with whatever you dip it in.

There are several fast food places that have corn dogs on the menu, so not just at fairs and carnivals.

and whoever decided to add sugar as a coating really REALLY hates corndogs

American here, mustard, not ketchup, goes on corn dogs. Sugar? Maybe sweetened cornmeal in the battered coating, but no other sugar. Hot dog, cornmeal coating, deep fried, yes! Cheese, occasionally. Dip in mustard, yes! Potato? Never heard of that! Not just American carnival/street food, we give these to the kids for snacks and eat them at bbq's with bbq sauce. Also, those didn't even look like corn dogs… were they made in Europe? LOL

What in the flaming fuck is sugar and ketchup doing on a corndog? The US says nooooooo my dudes. Hot dog, bathed in cornbread and fried. add mustard. Fun video though. 🙂

No no no no…Y’all need a box of “State Fair” corn dogs for a more true corn dog experience. Just some yellow mustard and MAYBE a little ketchup. That’s all ya need! Korean corn dogs aren’t the same.

American corn dogs are a whole different thing. The biggest variations I've seen is size, regular or foot long. In my home state of Mn, we deep fry darn near everything at our state fair.

American here. What the heck are you doing with ketchup and sugar on your corndog? Is that the Irish way? Also, everyone describes the corndog batter as tasting like a doughnut. Eww. I like your basic American carnival corndog, but everything you try in this video seems straight up disgusting and possibly sacrilegious.

Korean style corndogs really only came popular in the states in the past few years, and I can't even be sure if they are a thing outside the west coast.

    Sugar and ketchup… On a corndog… Wut?
Nah fam. Battered, deepfried, and dipped in mustard (sometimes ketchup, but usually mustard). That's an American corndog that you'd get at a carnival.
E: apparently these are Korean corndogs. Didn't know that was a thing. Maybe I'll try one someday.

I was wondering where these kinds on corn dogs were sold but the comments have clarified that it’s Korean style. I’m used to a cornbread batter served with mustard 😂.

Yeah…. Not sure where you got those "corn dogs" but they aren't what you traditionally see in the US at fairs and festivals. Someone must have sent you fancy gourmet ones. P.S. for those people watching in Minnesota, Pronto Pups are inferior versions of corn dogs. Sorry not sorry…

It's not supposed to be a donut batter but cornbread batter and not how it's done here in the US and they're going to be SOOO disappointed if they come here and think they're getting that at the fair or anywhere. They need a redo so they can understand that ketchup is needed, lol!
