I find the Instant pot "burns" often and shuts down. This happens when cooking a variety of recipes. It helps a bit to saute on a separate pan first instead of using the saute function on the Instant Pot. The slow cooker function doesn't produce as good of results as my actual slow cooker. I still use my instant pot because my wife is Mexican and it makes easy/quick shredded meat, but still keep the slower cooker around.

love my 6qt instant pot. I do still use my slow cooker from time to time as well. it has sentimental value to me and I will not throw it away until it no longer works. I have used both at the same time.

Easiest way to not forget a slow cooker is cooking, turn it on before work, takw it off when you get home. (But im kinda boring so I usually go home after a work day, but i belive thats what they were built for, something that cooks while your at work… Or if its thanks giving, something that cooks while your making the other hundred dishes you saw on pinterest)

My $12 4cup rice cooker makes better rice and my tiny $10 slow cooker cooks meat more tender. My old school stove pressure cooker is the fastest and last but not least my instant pot makes everything but doesn't taste as good. Jack of all trades, master of none.

Haha, you totally crack me up! You are so awesome! Instant pot, but not instant results and then with the slow cooker. 🙂 The only time I use my slow cooker is to keep food hot for birthday parties. I honestly love my Joule! I love that I can sous vide at home like what I used to do in the industry, before kids.

I have a slow cooker that has a stovetop function for browning and an automatic warm function when cooking is done, so I love it. I've considered the Instant Pot, but I try to avoid buying kitchen additional appliances. I think the time it takes to pressure up and pressure down might annoy me.
