I like this recipe. The only thing i would add is 1 can of rotel hot chilis. I add rotel to lots of things though.
Happy New Year 2020 made your Black Eyed Peas with Pork loin and Greens and gravy to end it off with Cornbread Family loved your Black Eyed Peas TY So Mush
I made these today exactly like the video shows in my Instant Pot. They are delicious! I know that dried beans do not have to be pre-soaked before cooking in an Instant Pot, but honestly, they are so much more tender if you do. Like you said they are SO much better than canned! The texture of these beans is excellent. I was looking for a method that does not use meat & although you gave that option I did not miss it at all. The bay leaves do a lot for this dish. Thank you!
We are pork and saurkraut people here, but I've never had this and will definately give it a try this winter. Just got an instapot for Christmas and finding so many new things to make. Thanks for the video!
Looks ridiculously delicious! Definitely going to give this a try today! 🤙
Happy New Year 2020! Thank you for the BEP recipe – I have all the ingredients and can't wait to try it!
I hope somebody that knows their instant pot better than me will chime in with an answer to a question. I'm going to make this recipe for dinner tonight. I want to make rice to go along with it and was wondering, if I use a tall stand rack for another pot, will the rice be too over cooked if I cook both the rice and peas at the same time??
It doesn't say how much chicken broth, or peas… as in measurements ?
@LemonadeMom looks yummy, my other add ins would be onion powder, garlic powder, red chili flakes for a little heat(optional) smoked paprika and if I don't add meat, I add a little liquid smoke😁. Red and green peppers and chopped spinach/kale also.
Have you tried doing yellow eye peas? I wonder if the cook time is the same
I think it’s so much fun to have traditions rather it being black eyed peas for good luck 🍀 or believing breaking a mirror means 7 years bad luck ( sure wished I didn’t break those compact mirrors when I was a teen hahah) we always have black eyed peas hoping John style and cornbread for New Years mmm I think 🤔 I’ll make that again this Saturday we love❤️it.

I've never heard of eating black eyed peas on New Year's
Are Black Eyed Peas actually peas or are they beans? My husband would love them if I tried them out, me I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to try them, though I would probably add the ham. Thanks for sharing with us.
I used my instant for my blackened peas today. I just put an onion three cloves of garlic salt and pepper and a hammock. they came out great great! i soaked the peas over night .Ive never seen anyone use carrots before.
we always have cabbage and ham
Our family has always did black eye peas, cabbage, cornbread, and some sort of pork. We did pork chops this year with ours and made some fried potatoes too.
We eat Lentils on New Years, for a prosperous year. I just got an instant pot gonna try this recipe.
My Dad always needed herring for good luck in the new year.
I just like black eyed peas!
Happy New Year!
Making black eye peas and cabbage for dinner tonight!
I just got a new instant pot and can’t wait to see more IP recipes
I've been using I-Pots for a couple of years. Use the slow cooker! It's very cheap to buy the accessory glass lid, or you may actually have a lid from one of your other pots that fits. I got rid of my big slow cooker 'cause the I-Pot does just as well and it's easier to clean. I use the slow cooker function as much as the pc.
I honestly have never heard of a good luck meal
This year I'm not doing anything special, I'm not Superstitious, and for me it's just another day. But Growing up and even as an adult up until this year I always had Sauerkraut and smoked sausage.
We have homemade cinnamon Rolls for breakfast and chili for dinner.
