You only need about 1 cup of liquid for the IP to come to pressure. Looks like you used 6+ cups! May have been a bit excessive. Final result looked really good though!
I doubled a Baked Bean recipe and didn't pay attention to the liquid. Didn't put a thing over the top and created a fountain of bean juice on our kitchen counter.
Really love the instant pot, have quite a few regularly used recipes. Shredded chicken tacos, pot roast with red wine, the favorite was chicken shawarma.
