It's basically quality and freshness over processed food. You could eat a burger with the Mediterranean diet even if it's not traditional, just quality meat, bread, fresh veggies etc. Greetings from Spain!

You might like these recipes that are my favs at the moment; mushroom stroganoff pasta (with a stack of spinach – delish), also a tomato and lentil soup (great with garlic sourdough)., and grilled vegetables are great as they are, in a wrap with feta and then leftovers into a frittata which I serve with an avocado and orange salad. I love this way of eating and in my family we have steak Friday, and a roast every few weeks. My weight loss is slow, but I am ok about that.

14 days? I've been eating the Mediterranean diet for 10 months and I'm still changing. Years of bad eating and bad health can't be rectified in 14 days. This is a lifestyle change. It's commitment not fashion.

Lost 40 lbs living in Spain just from the walkability of the cities and the food was almost always fresh and unprocessed. I wasn’t even “dieting.” Returned to US and tried to eat similarly and walk as much as possible and still regained + some. Definitely something about the food. Now I’m focusing on intuitive eating to heal my disordered eating patterns and for weight loss I’m just gonna balance workouts. Still doing cardio, just focusing more on building muscle to improve my metabolism.

Hi 😊 Thanks for sharing your 2-week experience with the Mediterranean Diet. I'm eager to give this a go! You mentioned that it was too soon to tell if the diet helped with your hormones. Do you have a follow-up video?

I swear by keto and carnivore diets while I'm doing power lifting. It's sort of a no brainer though… I hate grain and bread type stuff and can't stand sugar. My favorite foods are meats and cheese.

Not much mediteranean dishes, I try to eat authentic spanish, italian and greek dishes. I did a lot of research online, try the channel 'spain on a fork' he cooks authentic spanish meals.
I dont think many mediteraneans eat chia pudding or oats for breakfast, try the spanish pan con tomato.

I wanna do this but my biggest issue is always craving sweets but mostly chocolate and I always try having something healthier but it just makes the craving worse… And I hate seafood but I really wanna live off of the mediterranean diet for the rest of my life lol Idk how to do that.

Bea, I watched this video a second time. Want to let you know that I have been slowly converting to …maybe not to 100%… Mediterranean diet. I have been cooking at home more often, eating more fish and chicken, trying to get in more fruits and veggies (I'm not real crazy about veggies), and am using olive oil. I started to make this change gradually back in Aug/Sept '22 because my LDL was high and since I started this, it has improved a bit. Also, back in October, a big part of my sigmoid colon was removed because of severe diverticulitis. I have noticed a difference in my digestive tract in that my belly doesn't hurt when the stool is moving through the large intestine like it used to.

I've been on the Mediterranean diet for 3 years now. I lost over 40 pounds and have kept it off. I'm in remission and my oncologist said it's the best diet to keep me there.
    I absolutely love it.
Take chickpeas, rinse them and toss them with olive oil, za'atar, fresh garlic, S&P and throw them in the air fryer, or oven until crunchy. Best snack ever!

Loved seeing your journey, and thank you for all the meal inspo!! One thing I noticed is that your kale looks very raw -which you might love, but if youre interested, if you massage it when you wash it (basically scrunch it between your fists) it makes it less fibrous and more enjoyable to eat

Your video about trying out the Mediterranean diet came up in my recommendations, and your candid humor about everything is so refreshing. So many want to look or sound a certain way on social media of any kind. You, otoh, gave us your experience in a delightful, down-to-earth and relatable fashion. This is what this planet needs more of, IMO. And your canine companion is just adorable as anything, adding even more relatability.

You have a knack for taking what might seem complicated at first, and breaking it down into more mentally digestible bits. I know that I have a tendency to make myself overwhelmed with a list of things I have to do in order to get healthy in an X, Y and Z way. (Seriously, I need a kitchen magnet that says "Wait! I need to overthink this!")

Watching your video helped me feel like, "okay, I can achieve my list of healthier habits." 😁

Thank you for this! I am going to try some of these meals…I keep trying to restart keto, can’t keep on it.. I think Mediterranean diet is more long term and will work for me. 🙏🏽 ❤ are you still basically going this way of eating?

I was looking for med. recipes & your videos popped up. Looks like you're doing great. We recently started incorporating a more Mediterranean diet into our meals and let me tell you… YUMMY! Our weight gain has slowed down & we are including med. food from the entire region and not just Greece but Spanish Moroccan Italian French…I could go on. My hunt for recipes was expanded when I found a Mediterranean cooking course by Chef Bill Briwa. We were able to replace most meats with veggies or meat subs. like "Impossible" or adding black beans instead of ground meat. By the end of the course, it was all about technique & imagination. Splurge on spices & indoor herb garden, be free to experiment & enjoy shopping & cooking fresh as a daily ritual & not a chore. Sometimes I walk through a grocery store or a market for quite a long time looking for ideas. A feast for the eyes, the windows to the soul. 👏😋
