The first one I think is "If done from cold noodles" to be one minute. Just something I know about Asian families they intentionally make too much starch like rice or noodles so you can eat in under five minutes. even if you are a small child.

Chefs lying about cooking time is almost as annoying as them pulling "budget meal" prices out of their as$. Like "I've bought this pack of 40 oysters from the fish market that's 50 miles away from my house but we're only using one oyster today and not accounting for fuel so this meal is only $5.00" like bruh

Gordan's pasta was originally used in a 20-minute recipe video; the "10-minute" clip they used was recycled from there and probably without the editor considering just how big of a time difference it was.

Almost all of these sub ''10 minute'' recipes dont count the time it takes to cut and prep stuff into the actual 10 minutes and the 10 minutes only counts the active cooking time majority of the time.

okay for the steak, for sure the seven minutes is just the cook time. does not include prep, seasoning, preheating the pan, or resting the steak afterward. three minutes one side, three minutes the other side, then one minute for basting to bring it up to temp. that's the standard cooktime on a cast iron, so i'm pretty sure that's what he's talking about with the whole seven minute thing.

A lot of "pre measured" dish videos seem a little unfair. I know Joshua talked about this a while ago lol. Forreal though, pre-planning for a meal is like 80% of the work.

Would love to see you try some healthier recipes. So many low cal/low fat options just don’t taste all that good and it would be awesome if you could help us find some decent ones. Love the channel!

Wouldn’t it be assumed as 10mins cook time not including the prep time as well? Everyone’s prep time is different depending on how long they want to take. But with cooking there’s a certain window it can be cooked in before it gets overcooked

I don't think I've ever made a "10 minute meal" that requires the use of a chef's knife to be honest…. for most common people, our knife skills aren't great, lol. I spend at least 5 mins dicing an onion, haha.

Cola wings are delicous and really easy to make. Also, disturbingly muted in sweetness considering the sauce is literally cola syrup. Makes me wonder how much sugar they shove into conventional barbecue sauce… I sear my chicken first to render out some of the fat, then add in aromatics (or just garlic and green onions lol) some whole spices and the can of coke.

If I remember correctly, most recipe writers don't include prep time in the recipe time.
They usually start counting once the veggies are chopped and the water is boiling. That's probably why some of these were so off.

David, please, try some healthy food options for every day. All the time I see the recepies I get skeptical about both the taste and the practicality of them, and wish someone tries

The steak is very doable in 10 minutes. Maybe 11 or 12. It should not need more time than just the cooking process of the steak. You can cut the peppers while it is searing. Otherwise there is nothing else to do (1 minute for preheating the pan, 8 for searing, 2 for the sauce)

Interesting preparation for the steak; I couldn't imagine using any of the ingredients except butter! 30 minute or less recipes seem much more realistic for an average meal prep time…
