I had trouble with juice after my fast and was given this delicious soup. The first sips when the soup is really hot are divine. But it takes a while to drink the soup and after a few minutes, the potatos kind of congeal and become a little gummy. I'm going to make this with squash instead to see if I can prevent that glue-y texture as it cools.

I've done a lot of 5-6 day fasts, but the few times i made it to 7 days is where I get big results, in lower blood pressure and new digestive stem cells, but i usually throw up acidic ketones in my stomach that day for being in ketosis and have to stop

Did you lose any weight? not that you need to. I love the idea of a water fast, for cleansing maybe, but I donโ€™t have any health issues and I weigh under 100 lbs already at 5โ€™1โ€.

interesting. I've been making a version of that soup for years but using some veggie broth, and a teaspoon of dijon mustard…. I've used russet potatoes …I do peel them. and stick blend until super smooth. delicious and good anytime. I usually use a pack of zucchini from Trader Joe's and one good sized russet or two yukon golds. I don't like it too thick. I've often added a handful of spinach before blending. I love my instantpot but I find a saucepan works better for this and I don't any difference in time.

I just saw a show off-Broadway in NYC about a small group of women and 1 man who are water fasting (one is on a juice fast) in Northern California. In this play, the program is for pain management but I immediately thought it has to be based on True North, having been there myself. It's based on a location about an hour north of SF…. The play is written by noted playwright Annie Baker and I wondered if she had been a guest at True North. The play is called Infinite Life. Not my favorite play of hers but enjoyable and thought provoking.

I am super curious why AJ wanted to water fast given how slim she is. I do have one of Ramsey's cookbooks and will order the second one. Thank you for this video.

CHEF AJ: Thank you for all you do. Iโ€™m looking to go to my first plant based/holistic retreat for about a week. True North seems exciting but are there others you recommend that are in the USA and upcoming for this year so I can see which one is best suited for me? Ideally, I would love one with several speakers from the plant based community. Iโ€™d appreciate the info. Thank you ๐Ÿ™
