Join Jacques and I as we hang out, start our fall seeds, talk about what went well in the garden this year, and what we’re looking forward to for the rest of the …
ripping out my garden and getting ready for my cold, dark winter.. looking forward to March and some sun hitting my dirt… lol
Steely Dan …….'here come those Santa Anna winds again……" Such great music – I need to dust off the collection!
This was fun and interesting. I just had to place an order for the Rapini and the calendula. You guys are like watching neighbors hang out and rapartee.
Gotta have flowers in my garden, love macro photography, so I have to make room for them.
Nice to see collaborative gardening. I don’t have seasonal allergies, it seems like such a hassle, however, it’s really nice to see diversity in the gardening community despite those genetic challenges 🙌 Good luck this season with the harvest. 🙂
That was the most delightful, entertaining, informative, and inspiring gardening videos I have ever seen. You two are truly the Epic Dynamic Duo! This might have been your longest video, but it wasn't long enough! I hope you two do this again.
When you mentioned bulbs, I immediately thought of saffron crocus. Do u think those might work in our SD climate? Low-key wanna try to grow them. Also best clam chowder I had at the santa Cruz clam chowder festival used leek greens in it. It was SO good.
Ok wow – I also finally looked up what kohlrabi is and I have no desire to grow/eat that either
I love how you started laughing at Jacques’ entry while looking down at your seeds. You couldn’t even hold it together! Sincere comedy!
Parsley is one of the supergreens, and speaking of things that used to be a garnish, before kale took off as a superfood, its #1 use was for decorating the salad bar at (I think) Pizza Hut.
And Jacques? I had the same problem you had with parsley, with broccoli, so I love kohlrabi because it's got all the good parts of broccoli, minus the choking hazard.
Jacques, I use escarole in my wedding soup. Only thing I enjoy it with.
Oh leek soup! Yum!
I may have missed it, but could you do a video of how you organize your seeds in that plastic container? Love you channel!
Love your vids. I also subscribed for Jacques channel!
opps forgot to cut that lol clap clap
The garden hermit brings balance to the force ✨
Celery and fennel benefit from blanched stems/bulbs also
This is my favorite Epic video.
I bought sun gold tomatoes while watching, to make sure I could grow some before they potentially change!
Hahaha I've been living in a delusion since our first real frost is a month late.. I had to start my fall seeds so long ago, its way too late for me now 🍁🍂🧡
Aw, no hate for the kohlrabi, dudes! And try a variety of snapdragon called, Black Prince; dark red & yummy.
We are getting your Santa Anna in Modesto CA this week.
Thanks for the product placement!! I work for a distributor of Sierra Nevada😎😎!! Love the banter!!
“I only want things that I can eat” this is what I said too! Starting to appreciate growing flowers with different colors too.
Kevin, I'm thinking a partnership with Sierra Nevada is in order… You could grow some Cascade hops (the variety used in that Pale Ale you're sippin') and then do a series on growing hops in the home garden! Just an idea 😁 I love having hops in my garden and I think more people should grow it! Super easy and rewarding.
The kohlrabi and the giant red mustard! I have so many of each. Hahahaha. At least the chickens eat the mustard.
I direct seeded all my seeds
Loved it, convo style, loads of great info and ideas for new seeds too
When I was a child, I used to LOVE the Santa Ana winds! Holding a "sail" of cardboard and speeding down the sidewalk on roller skates or a skateboard. 💕 💕 💕
Marvel of 4 seasons is my fav lettuce
The bachelors buttons rocked for me last year…no doubt they'll self-seed this year and I'll be weeding most of them out. The blue is wonderful! But I'm curious to see if your variegated nasturtiums do well. I've found (in NorCal) that they just aren't vigorous even though I struggle to contain regular nasturtiums in their designated beds. They want to take over the world. And I'm growing escarole right now, planted in late summer, and it's great in soups or as a braised green with garlic.
We have a lot of earwigs too, but they mostly build nests among the currants and grapes. They have no interest in vegetables.
You guys keep talking about this broccoli style plant I can’t ever remember because, like malibar spinach, I block it from my memory – but you guys put me on to Kehlani and she’s great so maybe I’ll try it. Much love ❤️
I don't have anywhere with good natural sun so I picked up a small tabletop hydroponic system and I'm waiting for my seeds to arrive. 😄 Mostly herbs but also one cherry tomato variety. We'll see how it goes haha. I haven't grown anything since I was a kid when I drowned a cactus lol.
I live in Las Vegas and the air here is ALWAYS like that 😂😂
