    Jimbo made his version of this for me over the weekend and it was far superior. He used green/brown lentils and a lot more water than me. He also used a pressure cooker. The lentils broke down into more of a gravy, a bit more reminiscent of chili. In retrospect, I think my taste buds got burned out from fussing with the seasoning, and I ended up adding too much brown sugar (probably skip entirely). I'm also guessing that my lack of regular old chili powder threw off the taste.
    On the upside, for both Jimbo's and my versions… You won't feel like shit after eating this. Also Jimbo suggests topping with pickled jalapenos.
