I've made this. And the taste was so amazingly delicious. It is my most favourite japanese dish now. My family and friends loved it too 😍👍🏻 thank you for sharing this recipe Nami 🙏🏻❤
It is not advisable to cook white radishes and carrots together in a dish. The white radish has a high content of vitamin C while the carrot contains the enzyme that destroys the vitamin C in the white radish. Also, the carrot can do the same harm to other vegetables containing vitamin C.
This is a very refined version of tonjiru. Our family eats it as a main course, using bite sized rib tips or baby back ribs instead and we add kombu. Thank you for the recipe
What is konyaku made from I have never seen that kind also the burdock root. I like to make Tonjiru soup I hope I can substitute the two ingredients to somethin* else? Thank you for sharing the recipe. I have subscribed to your channel.
You know, I'm about to make this and realised that nowhere online is there clear information on how to tell when mountain yam is 'off'. How can I tell if my yam has started to go bad? There's just nothing online about this, I'm so cross. The other thing is, my daikon looks a little white and dry on the very 'core' part of the inside rather than watery and crisp like when I first bought it. Otherwise it looks fine. Again, no information about this online anywhere, so I think I'm going to throw caution to the wind and go for it. Wish me luck 😉
I love watching a recipe unfold and with each ingredient that appears on the screen going, 'oh my god I have that!' I got to the end of you excellent video and realised that I have everything needed to make this for dinner tomorrow!! Literally everything. I'm so happy I found this video, that you even made it! xo
Im planning to cook tonjiru, but i only have shiitake, conjaku, daikon, katai tofu, then i saw you with carrot and taro imo and naganegi, well its not complete without all the ingridients…so have to runbto the nearest supa…hehehe…
Can you use bacon instead of pork belly?
