Iβve never bought a pre made pie crust. I always make my own just because when I finally got the hand of making homemade pie crust I was so proud of myself so I never bought a pre made crust . I was in my late 20βs . Now I make an all butter pie crust.

I see now that I do not prebake my pie crust. Yours is really homemade. I love real pumpkin pie. I cant wait to try this one for thanksgiving. Do you make mincemeat pies? I would love to be able to make one.
I wanted to add that the canned pumpkin in the libby's pumpkin puree and the other name brands of canned pumpkin puree and the store brands they don't use real pumpkin for the pure pumpkin puree or the pumpkin pie filling they use other sweet potatoes and Dickinson squash.
Gina How come you don't make pumpkin pie with a fresh pumpkin such as using sugar pumpkins, Cinderella pumpkins, Japanese pumpkins which are called Kabocha squash,white pumpkins, and french pumpkins. Those are the best pumpkins to make pumpkin pies and all kinds of pumpkin desserts and savory pumpkin dishes. If you make pumpkin pie with fresh pumpkin it tastes so much much much better than the canned try it.
Hopefully it would keep me out the frozen food section for Mrs Calendars that's my go to don't mess with deli pumpkin pie no more.
