I’m sorry isn’t this Chinese hotpot? I always eat out at Chinese hotpot and this looks exactly the same. The place you shopped at are also Chinese grocery stores.

I eat enoki mushrooms like theyre noodles sometimes… too bad that I suffer for it because I'm a bit mushroom intolerant and the ruin my stomach for days when I fail to restrain myself lol. Also, I'm surprised by the lettuce. I've seen cabbages and bok choy, but never lettuce. What type is it? Definitely not knocking it, I made a warm lettuce salad cooked in bacon fat once just because I saw it online and it sounded so weird that I had to try it. It turned out delicious to my surprise

I know you said you're in Sydney, but is that where your accent is from? I don't think I've heard a voice like yours before. To be fair, I'm trash at telling apart accents, period lol. I usually can't even tell apart Australian and British, so if you have a regional Australian accent, I'd never know lol

I have never made a hot pot before, but have been interesting in trying! I picked up a few veggies from our local Asian food market, along with hot pot soup base, some tofu, have some garlic and ginger here at home…interested to see how it it turns out!

This looks amazing! I wish I could try hot pot but I live out in Orange in the central west and it’s hard to source ingredients when we only have one small Asian grocery in town 😭 I also live alone and it always feels like such a communal meal that you eat and share with others and seems hard and expensive to buy all the supplies and food for just one person! 💔

I tried this with my family, my cousin said can i get my soup seperate ? Then I told her the culture around hotpot and she said she wants her soup seperate. So my aunt ended up spliting the soup into 6 bowls. I think the important part this video left out is that in asia its ok to say shut up dont be picky, in the west we dont question why someone wants a cup or another fork or why they dont like garlic, we respect it, thats their choice.
