I can't believe He didn't use a cooking thermometer. Get an instance digital one from Amazon cook it to 130°. When it gets to be 120 it'll jump up very fast. That way there's no guesswork. Also if you let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes it'll be too cold by the time you eat it. I would stay away from steak sauce so I can taste the meat. I do put two types of dry rub on the outside. I came looking for flat iron steak recipes because I had one and it was incredibly tender and tasty. So I just bought three more. It's 3 years after the video was made and I paid $11 a pound in the New York City metro area And well worth it. When I let it warm up before I cook it and I take it out of the package so it can expand to its normal shape while it is warming up.

Sad to say I only now came across this channel. That steak looks amazing, flat iron is one of my favorites too and your seasoning is the same that I use minus a dash of red pepper flakes and a bit of lime. I know your cooking for the legends now my guy, in the big steak house in the sky! R.I.P Steve. You are missed.

You are now my man for cooking. I don't understand why people like T-Bones. They don't have that great of a taste or Texture. Ribeye and New York strip all the way. I am aware New York strip is part of a t-bone. I will definitely have to give this flat iron a try it seems like it would make great carne asada.

My friend who is a Kroger manager turned me on to flatirons a few years ago and this is pretty much how he cooks them. Right down to his portion being rare and mine sliced up and further cooked like Sheila's!!

It seems, the good, they die young! Loving food is the same as loving life! Now Steve can have the time of his life cooking for his friends without burning a thing! I know this sounds kind of normal to be recognized for what all we do in life, but I believe Steve is probably a better chef than he had ever hoped to be. I'm serious! Let me put it to you like this, "Steve never lost his soul"! One can never loose the love God gives one! I never knew Steve and yet, I knew Steve!

Made a Flat Iron last night after watching this video. My problem has always been I like it Medium Rare and my other half, he always likes his steak well done. Your video made the preparation for steak for both of us easy to do and I thank you for that!
