When I fast it’s never to punish myself or to undo a binge. It makes me feel good. I don’t do it regularly but when I do it’s usually 24 hours. Sometimes 36. Once in a while it’s 48. It improves my mood, seriously.

So true! I ate off plan Sunday. My daughter had a Thanksgiving dinner. I felt so freaking weird all that evening and the next day! Never again! Not worth the bad headache and felt high. I think my blood sugar went sky high!

Some really great advice! On the concept of taking food just because it was offered to me: after raising toddlers, I had to break the habit of eating whatever was left on their plates. I gained a LOT of weight doing that alone, so while doing Keto I would tell myself “this is not my food and I am not a garbage can.” It helped me break the habit very effectively and I also am using the “I am not a garbage can” reminder to help my autistic teen daughter be ok with leaving food on her plate once she’s full, and saying “no thank you” when offered something she doesn’t want or knows she shouldn’t eat and it’s helped her a lot. On the “be prepared” concept, when I first started keto years ago, I found taking a small cooler bag with a cheese stick or a measured out baggie of almonds in my bag. That way I never felt “keto food scarcity panic” as I was passing fast food places and convenience stores because I had “safe food” with me and most of the time didn’t even eat it because I wasn’t actually hungry, just triggered by the memory of junk food. Now I no longer need to do that but if I started struggling with that again it worked so well that I’d do it again!

I had to leave the Livestream halfway through. Thank you both for addressing my questions. The email concern should be ok as I didn’t get any kickback when I sent it. You both inspire me to stay the course and to remember my why. Holidays are tough as I get in my head “I could splurge this one” and I know that’s not the case. I always feel sick and inflamed after. I’m glad to have this family’s support as we all maneuver the holidays.
