From a middle eastern who cooked these her whole life… um don’t use it to make falafel use chickpeas instead. The soaking is correct but seriously add way more water and simmer for 3-4 hours or until. Also don’t only use cumin for god and use salt, garlic and even dried spicy peppers. Or go to your nearest international store and get the canned ones already done and seasoned.

WTF, you put a dash of water in the damn pot, then turned it on high and want to cook them for hours? You are insane. I learned nothing from this except how NOT to cook fava beans!

Short and sweet from a gal with a great chin cleft.   This was a very instructive video as it gave the most important basics- like the necessity for soaking and the fact that after soaking they only need a couple hours of boiling.  Easy to take it from there and come up with your own innovations for how to use this ancient food.

OMG put them in water and cook them a cupple of hours!

what a good guide !! I would never have guessed.

But how long they need to cook would have been nice info, since it is the only question here!
