My mom deadass just pushes the thing and it LOOKS like she'd get burned, but somehow doesn't.
I do this for my stove top pressure cooker too, I just wet the towel to avoid burning. Also it’s good for when we over estimate the capacity and dahl starts spurting out the top 😅
WARNING: I just saw a video from Tried Tested and True and she says NEVER cover the release valve as it can break the device AND void the warranty! Also as I said yesterday the instant pot is VERY safe!

We use these kind of pot it is called pressure cooker and we use it to cook rice, meat and other foods and just giving advice you should wait until the pressure is released itself and not cover it , the food may come out soggy and its texture may get bad
If using traditional pot.. TURN OFF THE STOVE BECORE THROWING THE TOWEL HAHAHA
Just do what i do. Turn it at the speed of light and run to the other side of the house

Please don't do this…the manual specifically says to do not cover the pressure valve.
I quickly run the lid under cold water to release the pressure! It doesn't cool the food at all, but it's enough to compress the air again to open it safely
Just leave it alone it will cool down .you don't have to do all that stupid shit with a towel and a chop stick .
