Brilliant video. I was waiting with baited breath for the "weigh-in" at the end but it never came! Hope it's not too heavy and doesn't slow you down. Love the idea of de-hydrating your food.

This was one of the most comprehensive packing videos Iโ€™ve ever seen! Great job and thank you for taking the time to go through everything in such detail! Toby is lucky to have you as his partner. The extra gear you carry to make sure heโ€™s comfortable warmed my heart. Also the time you took with his food prep. I used to do the same for my dog. Godspeed on your hike!

The Montane Minimus jacket is not designed to be used with a backpack. Unfortunately where the pack sits on your back at the points with the least pressure causes the material to rub and it looses its water resistance hence why they are designed for runners. Good luck on your hike buddy. ๐Ÿ‘

Wow, Mon 15th April 7am watching this & it's blowing a hollie outside with horizontal rain – hope them waterproofs are doing ok. Love to watch these hike list videos, people have some ingeneious way of lightening the pack loads. I did laugh out loud at the whisky glass mind ๐Ÿคฃ Love the way Toby gets equal status in your trips – nothing too muhc trouble for you when it comes to looking after him also, big up to you Ryan. It's obvious that with the packing you have a tried & tested system for carrying loads whilst making it as comfortable as possible for the hike. Good luck, hope the weather is kind to you, look forward to seeing the video/s. Friend of mine (Morgs4mountains) has done it along with a couple of other long trails which might interest you – he is on you tube. atb Al

Best video I've seen on a trekking loadout. I'm doing the Camino Primitivo in late September and am loading for a similar weight, also including shaving gear (I'm ex mil as well, its a morale thing). I'll take a bit more comfort over weight all day long. I'm taking a bigger 75L pack as I prefer having extra spare space for quick pack downs, but that's a personal preference. Have a great trek from fellow trekker and wild camper in Pembs.
