I have just lost my husband 4 weeks ago. I have to sell up and downsize. I feel lonely and I don’t know where to even begin with this new life at almost 57 😢

I'm 74, and been alone since was probably 55. At that time I had a cat and dog. When I was 67 I got my bucket list…a horse (Gypsy) I have never felt lonely, not one day. My dog and cat have passed. I do really miss them but never the companionship of a man. I am so content and happy. I love visiting with my kids and grandkids. But other than that, I'm all good. I keep my horse on a private farm near my Apartment. So I do all the work. And no matter what the weather is( I live in Michigan), I can't wait to get to her. I absolutely love it ❤️ It keeps me fit and healthy. I live in a senior building. Most of the women that live in my building are all in walkers, causes they have nothing to do. They nitt, play bingo and cards, do puzzles. I could never do that. I have to stay active. Thanks for your video, it's terrific 👍🥰

I’ve been on my own since 2010, I love it! I can do anything I want, because it’s just me, I fell back in love with cooking because I no longer have to do it for the whole family just me, I entertain just three times a year, and I make it a dining experience my friends and family loves it and so do I.

Thank you for your lovely, helpful video. It was refreshing! I’ve been widowed for a year & have a small dog like you. This house was my husband’s before we married. It’s too big and full of his stuff. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed. Thank you for helping me see lots of helpful ways forward. You look great, and I loved seeing you choose fun ornaments for the apartment. I’ve invited a friend for Christmas and feel inspired now to make it a wonderful time!

Happy Birthday Doggy. What makes me happy is my dinning room set with its 8 chairs and hanging Chandelier. It’s a symbol of my past and present joy in my life even though I live alone and nobody really uses it. And no matter where I go this dinning room set will be going with me-:)❤️😀👍

Ah what a beautiful video! Sometimes we forget how precious life is, and we must cherish it! and enjoy the smallest little things! Because life is not promised said the Bible! Is gentle and like a candle it can be blown easily! That why I sometimes don’t understand why people fight for things. At the end we will only takes those precious moments we enjoyed! Our memories. Enjoy each day! And always hope and pray! Always think tomorrow it will be better than today! ❤

What a blessing you are! You’re message applies to everyone, alone or not. It’s so easy to pay too much attention to negative news and negative people. You’re a positive one. Thank you for spreading the joy. I hit the subscribe button, something I rarely do. Stay brilliant, you really shine❤

I love seeing women enjoying fabulous, fun and independent lives whatever age. Your cute giggle after saying "…..I'm all fancied up, what do you think" reminded me of Marilyn Monroe and how she used to sweetly giggle. Hope your date went great. Love to your gorgeous dog xxx ❤️❤️❤️

How inspiring was your friend Dani….. I’m not dying today…..What courage, that is to be admired. ❤️ I took one of my Ladies out the other day, she suffers from Anxiety. She kept saying I can’t do that, I won’t be able to do that, and I tell you she was able to do everything she said she couldn’t do! 😉 I think perhaps fear stops us from moving forward with certain things in life, but until we try, we never know. We can all find inner strength that we didn’t know we had, that helps us move forward and keeps us going through the tough times. Xx

Such an inspiring video….Thank You. 👍🏻…. I, like you, buy bits & pieces from Charity Shops, Antique Shops and Salvage Yards to make my house a home. I love all the unusual things I buy. I don’t buy what’s in fashion, I buy the things I like. I have Eclectic taste so it fits in perfectly with all my Weird objects! 😊 It’s important to get pleasure from your home, it’s your safe place, your nest, your place of comfort. I also love house plants, they make a huge difference to a home, and My garden is also very important to me. I do have lots of stuff and I think I would really struggle to downsize! I don’t have anything of great value, but it all brings me joy! 😉

I'm so happy I found you! You just radiate life. I'm 74 and have been living alone contentedly for 5 years or so. My partner lives several miles away, but we talk on the phone every day. Neither of us can drive. Right now my daughter and granddaughter are living with me, and that's good too! They will eventually have their own home. Thank you for sharing your life, my new friend. ❤️

Happy Birthday Dear Dezie and thank you so much, Susan, for this VERY encouraging youtube. I'm just meeting you for the first time and will share this video with a lady I love a lot that lost her husband and needs to kick start her life again. I so appreciate your words of wisdom for so many that feel lost and alone. Forgetting that they have it in them to be completely happy again. – THings in my home that make me happy are making fairy gardens. I have a yard and can do this. But I also love my CHristmas Villages that I keep up all year and my Tiffany type lamps. Crystals that shine in the sun and send rays of color all around the house…my plants…and a new found love for designer moo moo's on Amazon! 💕 Also feeding the birds on the deck. My cat loves to watch them, too. Thank you again. Laura in Western Canada

Thank you for a most enjoyable video. You are very inspiring. My little tip for making my house my home is to de clutter. Having a set place or space for each treasured possession that made the cut and you brought with you to your new life, gives me a feeling of calm, serenity and control. My environment is no longer a mishmash of other people’s rules, needs, likes or dislikes. It’s is all me!
