You really should adjust the beater of your Kitchenaid, it is not supposed to bump up and down like that. There are videos on youtube to show how it is done, search for "Kitchenaid adjust beater" or "Kitchenaid dime test" (because you use a dime to test if the hight is right).

How about you and your mom doing tamales. Being Jewish do some chicken maybe. I'd like to know the minimum time for excellent ones. So far the couple videos I've seen on YT for Instant-Pot, or as I prefer to call it 'cuz I'm lazy on this one, Insta-Pot, set the time at 45 minutes. But maybe they can be done in less time? I dunno.
