I'm not understanding the value of using the Instant Pot? It is going to break the integrity of the bean down. There's danger of explosion. The alcohol cooks out. The cost of the pot. I made 6 eight oz. bottles (ordered from Amazon) I bought the beans (grade A, Madagascar). The alcohol content needs to be at least 80%. I have to admit…….part of the fun in making the vanilla extract to me, is the waiting! I would go in once a week, gently toss (I kept mine in the box the bottles came in, in our dark pantry.) I made them in Oct. and gave 3 out for gifts at Christmas time. I have 3 extra bottles, I want to leave untouched in the pantry for a year! I'm excited to see the flavor of the vanilla at that time! In addition to the bottles I ordered, I ordered some really cute botanical monogrammed labels to place on the bottles. It says Vanilla Extract. On a lower line Homemade by Debbie (then my last name.) People just loved them that I gifted them to. I didn't do it this year, but next year I will write out the recipe and instructions on how to create the extract, use a hole puncher and insert a red ribbon through it and tie it to the bottle. For someone who bakes, it is a lovely gift. **Note: also do not leave any part of the bean exposed without being covered by alcohol. The bean will go bad.

I just made some vanilla and can't wait to use it. Can I add vodka to my jar when I use about half and then let it sit to make more? If so how long do you think this would take? I'm wanting to know if i can reuse the beans?

Thank you for this video! I'm making vanilla for Christmas presents and figured I"d have to tell them to wait months to use it. I've got my ingredients, but I don't have an Instant Pot. Do you recommed a certain one? There are so many different models!

I love your video and made my vanilla a few weeks ago! Have you ever made chocolate extract in your Instant Pot using cacao nibs? I’ve found plenty of recipes, but none for the Instant Pot, so I thought I would come back here and ask you. Thanks bunches!!!

This is great and will yield good vanilla, but I find a ratio of 3-5 beans per 8oz vodka produces the best and deepest vanilla extract…. much like double strength or 2 fold vanilla that is often found in the store.

I have a crock pot, can i use that!? Kinda like this but it doesn't have a lid like yours, i simply put the lid on and that's it, and then turn on high or low, but i can put that thing inside and do all the rest

I followed your directions and made my 1st vanilla extract in my Instapot. But it doesn't look like it got dark enough. How long does it take to full develop? I did the manual setting for 30 mins and let it cool down for over an hour before opening it up.

My favorite use of vanilla extract is mead brewing (honey wine), not really a baked good though. Thanks for the video, I just found out people were using their instant pots for making alcohol extracts, very cool and HUGE time saver!
