Homemade cakes and pastries always taste better than stuff in a packet… I tried several of starbucks pastries and cakes throughout the years and I'm not impressed with any of them. Very generic stuff you can get from your local grocery store… this lemon cake that you made looks delish.. thanks for posting 🙂
I personally prefer the taste of lemon extract in baked goods because lemon juice burns easily and ends up being more acidic tasting than un-baked fresh lemon juice. I'd opt for lemon zest + extract in the loaf and lemon juice + zest in the icing. Just my opinion but I think leveling up the icing with cream cheese sounds amazing!
The Starbucks in my area has raisin scones with maple syrup taste, it is sweet and not to dry. That is so far my favourite. They don’t sell lemon loaf, but I would try this recipe to make one myself.
Would you look at that. This is an awesome twist from the original. I got curious of making the Iced Lemon Pound Cake of Starbucks because the cake they sell is decent enough but it doesn't have that kind of lemony flavor. Thanks Miss Dzung for showing us an idea to make this cake more exciting.
