This video made me laugh out loud a lot!! Proper old school Barry vid 👍
Wonder if this would work without the almonds?… I can't have any nuts 😕
Hello Barry, new here, love your vids and your humour , you have a lovely family , love cooking and trying out new stuff😄😄
In Afrikaans (One of South Africa's languages) Lekker has a few colloquial meanings, but it's definition is delicious.
You should making dried salt cod Salad it's so delicious but the cod needs like 2 days to soak to rehydrate
I enjoy watching you cook and bake. I used to do a lot of cooking and baking, but now I have diabetes so I don't eat much of anything that has any flavour. Tried some diabetic baking with loaf and cookies, but like gluten free baking it was awful. So I live through you and your videos. It is very much like how I travel these days too, only on video. Thanks a bunch Barry.
What's in the mixed spices?
Looks delicious, what type of fruit candied peel did you you use?
I'm swiss and it's definitely cool to see those pictures of your trip from places where I've been to as well. Good to hear that you had a good time. As other people have pointed out they're originally from Basel and known as Basel Läckerli and as a kid I'd eat so many of them that I had to take a long break to be able to enjoy them again. Might try making them myself soon with this video.
New editing style?
Barry, you should make a giant sour gummy worm or gummy hamburger or gummy hotdog
Good video as always 👍
Are you going to do any more "Giant size" videos? If so, how about a curly wurley?
Mr.Barry should try some polish gingerbread/cookies (pierniki) as it did originate from the country!! Some have a sweet jam filling some traditionally have a minty frost covering them!! My PL wife introduced them to me and I've not looked back since…well apart from crossing the road and everytime I check behind me and to be honest I look back everyday but there delicious okay!! Should definitely try some polish dishes…p.s your enthusiasm is infectious now I'm off to the kitchen👍🏻🤘🏻
Those are one of my favourite Christmas cookies! I'm German though 😀 "Lecker" means yummy, delicious. Leckerli is the same as sweets, usually sweet baked goods. In my dialect it's most common as the word for dog treats 😀
This kind of reminds me of Ukrainian honey cake. Spices and honey
I WANT THE HOMEMADE AFTERSHAVE VIDEO!!!🤣🤣
Hey Barry, as always a banger recipe! So happy to see you had an amazing vacation with the family! Next time come to Vienna and we can raid the Naschmarkt and then get some Käsekrainer with a beer 😉
I much prefer the cooking style you had recently with no voiceover and narrating while cooking. it felt less rehearsed and friendlier
looks delicious, though not entirely sure what candied peel or mixed spice are. I assume candied peel is citrus peel, but no clue on the mixed spice. All spice maybe?
Totally different note: it'd be fun for you to do traditional gingerbread people and decorate them with the girls
Lecker lecker
Hey Barry have ever heard of "ThatDudeCanCook" he reminds me of an American version of you lol and he's also from the UK originally though he's a full blown chef. A collab would be awesome to see.
glad you had a nice trip! this looks tasty
Im sure it tastes great but it started out looking like something you see on the footpath outside the pub on a Friday night
I feel like it needs more ginger?
In your recipe, what does mixed spice have in it? Like pumpkin pie spice?
My mum's Swiss, and she's making stuff from her childhood all the time, I'm a little surprised this hasn't come up yet, but there's every chance I could surprise my mum for her birthday, it looks really nice, and (even though it'd be summer here) December seems like an appropriate month, too 😛 I've been taking note of so many videos from this channel so I can find them later and try them. Love to see these videos!
Love your work Barry and appreciate you trying out new styles
Not such a fan of this exposition/voiceover it doesn’t feel as authentic as you talking about what you’re doing in the moment
Barry, please stop with the teasers at the start of every video.
huh, interesting to find out the swiss and the south africans use the same word for good. theres probably a colonial origin for the use of the word somewhere
Barry, you've been told about your bee-sniffing thing already, got to let the poor things go without them being sniffed… 😛
Strange to see that you were just a few kilometers away from my working place🫣
Please don't confiscate their Swiss army knives, teach them to use and look after them responsibly. They are great tools and should be treated as such but the girls shouldn't be scared of having them.
3 ingredient Cordon blú:
chicken breast, seasoned shake and bake, and one of those mozzarella snack sticks that comes pre wrapped with prosciutto.
Bam.
Have you got a new camera? Looks better
Hi Barry, I love watching your videos, I enjoy watching you for many years, so thank you for making them😊. Recently I discovered burrata and I like it very much. Do you have a good recipe with burrata? 😇
I really liked the editing in this one.
8:16 …..Yes? I'm sorry, I couldn't resist answering you there, as my name is Lee…..teehee. Looks delicious Barry. Lee 🙂
Barry, is there a nice healthy, recipe for a classic Flapjack?
Its the NA version of a granola bar?
Gingerbread with no ginger. Confused face.
You could do "joulutorttu" which means christmas tarte (but isn't) 2 ingredients only: puff pastry and plum jam
I'm not sure I enjoy this narrated style so much as the usual
As an OG….yes I enjoyed that😂😩! Even took a screenshot
Leckerli ist mostly used for cat and dog treats in germany. And, yes lecker is yummy, tasty, stonkin…! 😉
Barry, what is the difference between golden syrup and corn syrup? I can't find golden syrup where I live, but we have plenty of corn syrup, dark corn syrup, maple syrup, honey, and molasses. Which would be the best substitute for golden syrup in your opinion?
