    @BrianLagerstrom, in the receipe you have listed Chili powder, is this just Chili or is it a spice blend (Garlic, Cayenne, Oregano etc).

    You lost me right at the beginning. A mean chilli doesn’t have beans in it. No me gusta frijoles.

    Original texas chilli doesn’t have beans. People put beans in because they can’t afford the meat.

    the only issue i had with this recipe, is that when i toasted the chiles at 450, they burned in about 1 minute. luckily i had chipotles in adobo sauce that i made into a puree instead.

    This stuff tastes fantastic. even the base before cooking in the oven is delicious.
