Joey I was vegan for years and ran into the same problem as you are. We didn’t cook with oil but had to use a lot of mock meats to hit our protein goal. TVP is clean but the sausage, burgers are filled with oil. I see you going down the same rabbit hole as I did and I love your channel been watching for a long time. In order to get your protein as a vegan you don’t have a choice but mock meats are so unhealthy and you know that. I’m telling you it was a disaster. It’s unfortunate but we couldn’t continue down that path. I’ve never had high cholesterol mind you got a physical after 3 years vegan and all my bad cholesterol was sky high. In order for you to maintain you will have to continue with trainer. Couldn’t afford one so I walked 3-5 miles 6 days a week but guess it wasn’t enough. I’m telling you this because you mentioned in one of your videos this was something you we’re currently doing until the weight comes off. I hate to be the burden but it’s the truth. Ill continue watching, recipes are beautiful. Good luck to you.

I'm impressed by your garden and raised beds. I live in the desert too, so I know the challenges desert gardeners face! Also, have you tried fresh ginger? I feel like it tastes a lot better. 🙂

I get the warmest, sunniest vibes from your videos. You both have very warm and kind personalities. I don’t have my own kitchen, but I’m moving in July and I’m literally counting down the weeks until I can try some of these recipes! So clever to use edamame noodles in the spring rolls!

Thanks so much for this content – high protein, lower calorie is exactly what I need to make progress, too. I don’t think any other plant based channels are doing this. Please keep it up! Also, it’d be nice if Joey let Tim talk more and didn’t interrupt him so much. 😅

You both are doing amazing. Beautiful garden Tim. Just a tip, because you put your beautiful meatless burger on square bread. Try cooking them in a loaf pan. Or use a square container to cut and square to fit on your bread.❤

I would love to see more of Tim's gardening adventures. Though I live in VA, I'm always interested in what fellow gardeners experiences are. I am also going to try the brocc bake, have to look back for the burger recipe (because they looked amazing) and the cheese sauce recipe. OK, sounding like a nutter here, but definitely am going to try the spring rolls too.

Thanks for sharing your journey! You’ve inspired me to add more protein to my diet, now that I’m 50. I haven’t eaten meat since 1986, then went vegan in 2018, and have never struggled with my weight until the last two years. Pretty sure it’s age/hormone related because nothing else has changed! You’re both looking great and seem so happy. You’re a lovely couple.

Love how this video is edited, makes it very easy to follow the recipes, great ideas too! Feeling inspired by the garden Tim, looks so well thought out and lush (hard not to be jealous of the sun, I have a big garden with a lot of shade, many of my plants struggle, my star jasmine is green but hardly flowers). It was so nice to get another look at your neighbourhood Joey, you go passed some lovely front gardens, it is so different than my local area – good of you to take us for a stroll. Thanks guys, great video!
