2 cups of sugar? That was the smallest cup I've ever seen lol. 🤔😄
I thought mochi was ice cream

Recipe:
2 Cups whole milk
2 cups Granulated Sugar
16 oz glutinous rice flour
1 can coconut milk
4 eggs
Half cup melted butter
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
350 For One Hour
I use my Kitchen Aid to mix…
that's BIBINGKA in my native land Philippines.
This recipe is THE BEST!!! it came out so delicious!
Please know that "hawaiian butter mochi" is not hawaiian or japanese. It is derived from BIBINGKA, which is a Filipino dessert. As a Filipina who grew up in Hawaii, i understand that when things become popularized, they often take on a new name that is more acceptable to the masses. But "butter mochi" is and will always be *BIBINGKA*.
..and yea maybe i am bitter about japanese people in hawaii renaming and taking credit for things that were made by other cultures on the islands. like the fact that mainland people think poke is a type of sushi when it's a native hawaiian dish. i'm tired of seeing Bibingka but when i get excited that people are enjoying Filipino food they be like "oh it's hawaiian butter mochi" – just small kine irritating…..
What makes it Hawaiian?
Looks similar to Filipino royal bibingka
I really love mochi, but im not a big fan of butter mochi. Idk why.
That looks so good! How many ml is the can of coconut milk pls.
That was really simple to make. I can’t wait to try! I just need to go buy a baking dish lol
This was absolutely perfect. Thank you for posting.
This was…so convincing. Haha making it now.
Can I just do all coconut milk because I rarely have cows milk in my house?
Did you put the shredded coconut on top before you bake?
Eleven out of Ten. ❤ ok I definitely need to make this now! 😂
I live in Hawaii and I will say the coconut is a must! Glad this recipe is getting recognition, because it’s a coincidence most Hawaiian families make this, but I love how you added coconut to it! Coconuts give a great subtle taste, and they are sweet and savory. Lookin good! Mahalo 😁🤙🏾
MaHaLo❤
I guess the Caucasian food and spice crusade just never ended. You guys make every other cultures dishes after storming the lands and we’ve yet to see what all the stolen spices and recipes have done for your all’s culture. You may not be bad, but the things you all do are not for sure Good. Imitation is the highest form of flattery when it’s not one sided for so so long. When do we get to take a recipe or something natural from you all and replicate it ?? Lol just saying, looks good tho. 😂
I made Hawaiian mochi before but I don’t use coconut because I cannot eat coconut. I’m allergic to them, but I always put pineapple and mochi and it’s really good.
Nice looks like simular to casava cake
The sugar cup confused me ngl lol
Americans man. This isn’t mochi just because you used glutinous rice flour
The chewing sounds at the end over top of the “beauty shot” were not it😬😬
2 cups of granulated sugar??
I wonder if i could use shredded/chopped almonds or shredded potatoes on top because coconut flakes have an awful texture to me persomally
That does look pretty darn life changing!
I’ve made your butter Mochi four times but twice I didn’t have whole milk so I switched it up a little. I had/added 1 cup 1% milk, 1 can coconut milk, 1 can coconut cream – add the rest of said ingredients. It came out delicious!!
The 2nd time I used 1 can evaporated milk, 1 coconut cream & 1 c 1% milk (my kids love 1% milk lol) – along with the rest of the ingredients and this recipe came out THE best!! The texture was perfect! Not too sticky, not too chewy.
I have to say, of all the butter Mochi recipes I’ve tried, yours is – in our opinion – the best! Thank you!
How do I get rid of you on my feed?🥱
Asians have been enjoying this for centuries 😆
I completely forgot that I had bought some glutinous rice flour almost a year ago for make this and I love how simple and easy your video is to follow! The butter mochi came out amazing!!
Does anyone actually have the recipe o clicked on her link but I can’t find it?
