Oh my goodness, I grew up eating turkey a la king! I have never found anyone else who even has heard of it much less eaten it. My mommy made it every year with leftover turkey after Thanksgiving. It is a tradition I still carry on. I have never done chicken. I guess I always thought it might take away from the tradition. 😊

Thank you so much for sharing you're ideas and thoughts I just went to the store this morning and I haven't been too much to the store lately and I am so grateful for having stocked up over the last few years or so. I was thinking that since the prices have gone up so much I have enough that when I need more I just get one or two and it won't cost as much to keep my pantry up. I even have enough that I can wait till they have a sale so I am very thankful for people like you who help us understand how to build up the pantry and food. I appreciate you're channel and keep up the great work and many blessings!

In the fall, usually around Thanksgiving I use either butternut squash puree or pasta sauce to either make a butternut squash soup (using warm spices like curry, cumin, etc) or butternut squash pasta with ground sausage, turkey etc. Another option is I make a butternut squash lasagna or baked ziti with sausage/turkey/beef and swap out tomato sauce for butternut squash sauce. Just do a search and you should find a lot of recipes for butternut squash pasta dishes or soup

Hey girlfriend everything sounds delicious. I will be looking forward to hopefully seeing a video of your chicken and barley. I have never cooked with barley I don’t even know if I like it. And I have never made chicken à la king so I would love to see how that is done also. Thanks for the great video God bless you and your family!❤️🙏

Recipe sounds so good. A crockpot meal is good for this heat. I remember chicken ala king and loved it. My family doesn't like casseroles too much, but I do. They freeze so I may have my own frozen dinners, lol. Take care, Linda 🦋

I love your ideas! I've been wanting chicken pot pie and lentil shepards pie lol but it's too early (and too hot). I love fall and winter food. I will pick up some celery flakes. Asian parsley tastes like celery and easy to grow. I've discovered the value of canned potatoes (fresh have been expensive and yucky for 2 years here) and canned chicken (allows for my small freezer to be full of broccoli).

The ham would be great added to some fried canned potatoes and cheese on the stove. Steam some veg. 10 minutes and voila!

A suggestion for the butternut sauce. Souptember! Add caramelized (or not) yellow onion, a few apples (or applesauce), a little butter and brown sugar with a pinch of nutmeg. Serve with fresh, homemade bread. Delish. It's a meal make often to deliver to others.

Hello Lynn, We had ground turkey, with a can of diced tomatoes , whole kernel corn ,& ramen noodles mixed together & seasoned with Italian seasoning and black pepper tonight for supper , it made a good meal. My husband got the recipe at the senior citizens center yesterday and he wanted me to make it .It was real good, you can also use chicken, ground beef, or sausage in it. It's a good way to get your vegetables fresh or frozen. Thanks for sharing all of your ideas .Y'all be blessed & enjoy the rest of ya'll 's week.Love from Lula mae and Family. 💕💟💕
