This is a fun little candy to make with juice and Clear-Jel. If you can’t find Clear-Jel at a local restaurant food supply type store then you can purchase Clear-Jel …
So Walmart doesn't have- Clear Gel?? I figured they would! Guess i just need to check.
Can you use Splenda instead of sugar?
What temperature for the dehydrator?
I have a quick question. Can you use E-Z gel in this recipe and would it be used in the same way? I have tried to find out more but cant find the answers I need. E-Z gel is not made with Genetically Modified ingredients and clear gel may be. I would like to use the E-Z gel instead but I dont know if it would convert in the same way. If you cant help I understand
C;lear jel is less than a dollar a lb right now on Amazon for the 25lb bag!
can yu use gelatin
How cool is that! I also got 25 lbs of clear jel at Cash and Carry. I'll have enough to last forever. Thank you for posting.
Maybe if you start with double the amount of juice and cook it down or reduce it to the amount called for in the recipe, it will concentrate the flavor?
The only thing I can think of is to use a really strong juice. For instance, if I was going to do it with grape juice I would get purple grape juice instead of white grape juice. It just seems to me that it is a stronger flavor. I was also thinking of making some Lemonaide drops. I would use my own Lemonaide mix and therefore be able to make it as strong as I like. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
I'm glad you liked the video and it gave you an idea for something fun to do with the grandkids. Remember it takes quite a long time in the dehydrator I hope your grandkids have a lot of patience…LOL Please let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching.
New subscriber here. Grandkids are coming tomorrow and this will be a great project for them. Wonderful video!!
Glad to hear you liked it. And I'm glad you tried it with corn starch. I think that's great! You Rock Too! Thanks for watching.
I couldnt find clear jel so I used corn starch… it seems to work ok. Thanks for posting this recipe. You Rock!
Thanks for watching and I'll be excited to hear how yours turn out. I replied to CV Jones about the temp question you had. Let me know how things go for you. Thanks for watching!
Yes I did say low. There was no specific temp. in the recipe and I didn't want to start off too warm because I was afraid the outside would dry too quickly and it would prevent the inside from drying properly. It's called 'Case Hardening' . I usually will go a little lower in temp and a little longer in time when I don't have a set temp. Thanks for watching!
I'm glad you liked it. Its fun to have something a little different once in a while. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for posting what a great idea…Well done!
I have the same questions, I believe she said low so maybe its the fruit roll up setting? Let me know if she tells you. I want to try these NOW…LOL I cant wait till my rasberries come in this year, I will use them in conjuction with my strawberries cause I have lots of jelly and jam already. and I already make fruit leather but this will be interesting.
My grandkids loved them. Not to mention my 28 year old son! LOL Between them I'm already out and have to make some more. Thanks for watching.
This is great! My granddaughter is going to love them. Great idea using the fruit/veg juice.
