I was lucky to have lived in Albuquerque for a year and miss the blue skies, culture, adobe's and food. Didn't have a chance to learn how to cook with the hatch chilies and now our grocery store in Minnesota just received a big shipment of New Mexico Hatch items so it's time to figure this out. This video is what I was looking for but with winter approaching any more stews, chowders or soups would be great.

I’m very particular about my chili. I’m partial to green and we never had t say ”stew” we just knew what it meant! We knew it was that time of year when my Dad would bring sacks home roasted and Mom made homemade tortillas. We presses garlic.. salt & pepper and put in a folded tortilla! Yum!

We lived in TX and we’d travel to So NM to buy sacks.. (6-7)!honeydews… cantaloupes… tomatoes.. to put up the chili in the freezer! Yum! True you don’t miss it till you move!

My Bro moved to LA,CA… I flew go visit him.. I guess he bragged about my cooking skills and his Roomate brought in the meat dish as his personal dish for enchiladas!! Just so happened I brought green & red in my suitcase!! We ate to contentment!! The roomie proposed to me! To get his fix! We like medium to be able to enjoy it!

I took Food Science in College. We actually measured the amount of Vitamin C green chili contains! It does!! The professor of Geology had the means to measure it for us!!

Now I can brag I needed Vit C!!

You know it’s fall when you smell it being roasted! My Dad told my Dad.. he got off work at the main Post Office and smelled it across the street! So he bought a little. My Mom asked what a little was!!?? Good thing she did! He bought 7 sacks!! OMG! She tried to get mad but knew me Dad LOVED chili!!

God Bless him! Passed on 06/22/2006 RIP.. the Head Chili cook in our kitchen! He roasted in his BBQ lit as well as the broiler! To help speed it along!!
