i do this recipe just slightly different i use fresh tomatoes and a home made tomatoe sauce use mushrooms crimini as well but basically i use butter and olive oil to brown and to saute the veggies same as giada but use green and yellow peppers for enhanced color then same seasoning but to add moisture using a cup of cherry adds a nice flavor sets cacciatore a step above … ben
I made this dish tonight. The only difference is I added 12 quartered olives and a pinch of hot pepper flakes to the sauce. Also finely milled the capers (I don't like to bite into them so I mash them up when adding to sauces). Served it with garlic toast and a caesar salad on the side. Insanely delicious.
