Well Done. Did you know bread crumbs were used as a substitute for cheese?… Called Poor Man's cheese.

I put in a tad more oil and some pasta water, but I guess yours has a different/dryer consistency when using breadcrumbs… I'll try it.

    – Angel hair spaghetti is the size to use and btw, I am sooo impressed you have a big chunk of Parmesan.

This reminds me of something my (Sicilian) grandmother made years ago. She used day old bread that she would rub on her cheese grater. She would serve it with chicken or a roasted pork loin.

Interesting recipe. I've never seen one like this before and I'm like you, Flo, I like to try out new recipes so, the ones that I make may not see a repeat for months or more. Not sure about the anchovies in this one – guess I'm a little tunnel visioned 'cause I don't like fish as a rule. However, I love caesar salad and that typically has anchovies in the dressing so, if you tell me that the anchovies pair so well with this dish that I won't think I'm eating something fishy, I might try them.

Thank the good Lord I waited to watch this until I was eating! I knew I would be salivating based on the title which I would have been if I did not have food in front of me. Only problem is I chose a frozen pizza for my meal and it doesn't taste nearly as good was what your dished looked like it tasted.

Great recipe! Gemelli is a really good choice. And to save a step, you don’t even need to chop the anchovies. They will literally “melt” into the olive oil as you sauté them with the garlic. I’m like Flo regarding variety and like trying new and different things so much that I sometimes don’t make things for a really long time, even though we loved it! Love all your recipes and tips. Thanks.
