I'm on my 4th or 5th time using your recipe for frioles charros and we all absolutely love it
I love a goodole pot of pintos. Gonna have some tommorow. I will eat on them all evening. Thanks for you're recipe. I'll try some of you're ingredients. 😎👍
Cooking them right now while watching the Vikings play the giants. This is my second time cooking cowboy beans and we absolutely em. Thanks
Add some pork rinds
Looks delicious 😋
Gotta have the chicharron in it
Thanks James Strange, your recipe was delicious! Just what I was looking for. We're making it again this 4th of July weekend. We're in Houston and your recipe is now a staple for our Mexican themed meals as well. Thank you kindly James Strange…. Mexican Rice???? You can do it!!!!
Looks good 👍
I don't doubt that it taste good but i bet you cant even taste the beans themselves with all the strong flavors you added. Next time try cooking with just the bacon and maybe the onion, everything else just helps to ruin the dish because ypu cant taste your beans which is the best part.
James,You should of been born Hispanic. Thanks for sharing.
Lard aint good for ya
Your a hero.
🤤 yummy😋
Hiiii if I don't have Lard…should I use canola or vegetable oil??
Good job! just like my recipe, except, I add cumin and red chili power and no chorizo. But, the chorizo can only make them better. Right on with the lard. That is the secret to great refried beans as well. Bacon, lard, red chili power, garlic, cumin, salt and pepper. Add the lard to the bacon to fry, then add the blended beans the the hot oil to fry the beans. Once again, good job.
That's just stupid chilly
Possum fat and green onions.
"All the tack oh ree uhs in Houston?"
Its called "Tah koes" you yamkee fool
Omg! This was delicious. Made it with my Tex Mex Fajitas night. I used 2 large cans of Goya pinto beans because of time constraint and skipped the lard because so much bacon grease. Will make it again and again. Thank you for a great share.
The best thx man
Thats how alot of my tios [uncles] in Mexico used to make it when I was younger 😊
long do u keep the beans with the added mixture/ ingredients on the stove for? ( if u said in the video, my bad, my kids are so loud and I couldn't hear lol)
Super😍😍👌👌👌👌👍👍
I use chicharonnes(freshly made from our local mexican market where they make them fresh daily), the kind that are basically fried pork belly. So good.
Hey James. Watched your video and you did a great job. However, I was a bit skeptical at first cus you did look like anyone from Texas . I'm from Corpus and retired military, but I have to admit they look great. I will make some and try them out. I live close enough to the border that could ride my Harley and go pick up a little senorita and have her make some for me. Do you know if your beans can be canned? Thanks for sharing. Much appreciated.
Nice recipe, thx for sharing!
Dear Goodness! This IS the recipe I have been looking for. THANK YOU. I hope some day to give back to you. I cook a lot myself. What do you like? I know of a real Italian cheesecake that will knock your socks off.
😣….it's not a "tex mex" thing….it's just a Mexican dish lol….but anyway this looked great.
I don't know why I never thought of it.
But I recently had charo beans with charizo , so damn good.
That looks so damn good!
LOL…. LOOKS LIKE SOME GOOD HEARTY CHILI BEANS….AND WITH EVERYONE ADDING CORNBREAD TO IT👌MAKES FOR SOME GOOD EATING.
Good detail
