Keep up the good work giving me reasons to convince my wife to let me buy an air fryer .. slowly but surely! btw, not sure if it matters, but I think people pretty much use potato/corn/tapioca starch interchangeably .. sometimes I feel like Chinese cooking is a lot less fussy and more forgiving about condiments/ingredients like that. Again, congrats!

Congratulations on 100k! It is so hard to find boneless chicken legs/thighs WITH skin. I miss Japanese groceries in California where they had boneless chicken leg meat pre-cut into chunks for karaage WITH skin. Definitely will try this since I love five spice!

You're right, Flo. Cornstarch would work too. I've used cornstarch myself when making a similar recipe.
