    You put too much sugar when the pineapple juice is enough to get the right sweetness into your hamonado. Unless your canned pineapple is unsweetened or less sweet, I can understand that much amount of sugar you put into your cooking. Here in the Philippines, we use Del Monte and Dole pineapple products and they are already sweet. And as additional tip in Pilipino food, everything are cooked to match with rice. That way you can balance the strong taste. Anyway it's just the first time so you can just udjust the right mixture next time, according to your taste.
